well I used to be known as zanrealm on rigs of rods and I made node/beam trophy trucks. a few weeks ago, I got a new computer, bought this game and really enjoyed it. Now that i've started to get bord of this game like I did with ror I've started to play around with the beam editor. What I want to start to do is to make mods for this game aswell, although they wont be the highest of quality they will hopefully be fun like in ror. what I have now is a body/chassis made in google skechup (that I will import into blender to smooth and texture) and this somewhat jbeam creation ive yet to get in game versions I hope to get in game trophy truck rally cross street performer/drift and a bagged/stanced
I wasn't around when the Datsun Ute mod came out but this is reminding me of it. This looks amazing so far and it will be one of the only mods of this quality to be realised recently that isn't outdated or more than 2 years old. Can't wait to drive this, especially the drift version.
Do you ever plan on putting on a body kinda like the monster one it would be really cool a special sticker covered body.
well I got the I-beam front suspension done, now I just need to get it in game. can anyone tell me what the file needs for the game to register it as a car? ive read the wiki and cant figure it out
Did you try looking at one of the official vehicles? offhand here's what I think you need: info.json primary jbeam w/ refnodes primary dae w/ meshes named to match flexbodies which in turn match up with "groups" which include the relevant nodes
well this is a whole lot harder than moding ror, I will not give up and keep trying but this mod may take awhile
the whole (get something you made in game) thing haha anywys could you tell me what I'm missing it I post the j beam model?
Can't hurt to post it, but no promises on what I can or can't tell you! You haven't been able to get the jbeam into the game at all yet?
Were you doing ROR files with spaces in the filenames? For better or worse I discourage this. What text editor are you using? There's a bunch of crazy whitespace/returns in your file. You need to add the "main" slot. Check the log and compare with the pickup (look at pickup.jbeam). After that you'll see that you have a problem with your coltris. I'm not sure what it is offhand, but if you disable the coltris it spawns. --- Post updated --- Turns out that the problem with your coltris was that this is required: Code: ["id1:","id2:","id3:"], I didn't know that!
didn't know what? anyways all the empty lines is because I delete all the misplaced nodes/beams manually and forgot to get rid of them. well anyways it seems to work fine now thanks. now I just need to figure out wheels and suspension
Turns out that the problem with your coltris was that this is required: Code: ["id1:","id2:","id3:"], I didn't know that! I didn't know about the requirement I posted above that... ["id1:","id2:","id3:"], must be at the top of your triangles section.
