Look at tutorials on youtube. Seriously, just google whatever 3d program you use and loads of results will come up. There are 2 main options though. You can use UV maps to apply a single (custom made or downloaded) texture to your model or you can apply materials to individual objects/faces. The latter is much easier but no good for BNG.
Alright, this isn't mine but a family friend who does 3d modeling for his career. Using 3ds Max 2014, we're currently trying to make a ramp that steadily drops all the way into a completely vertical 2000 meter drop smoothly enough that cars with strong enough downforce (Hill Climb, FR16) can stick to the surface. If any of them are actually able to maintain control going down it, I'd like to make an obstacle course and scenario out of it and possibly build a mountain map around it. Only issue, he does not make models for games so he's unsure how to set up the meshes and DAE to work in BeamNG as a static object. Trying to use the container model from the game as a template. I could find base level tutorial videos on Sketchup and Blender, but not 3ds Max. Any suggestions? PS, that red blip is the cargo container from BeamNG for scale. Also has side railings that aren't clear when zoomed out. Edit: He's trying to use the Blender tutorial as a guide for 3ds Max. Got the refernce cargo container to show up in the exported file in-game, but the ramp didn't show up and the container no longer had working collision. Still troubleshooting. Edit2: Visual mesh in the game, still no working collision mesh yet.
Making some tests about weapon design, animation, physics and smoke simulation Don't really know how to embed video files here so if you want to see the video: https://www.instagram.com/p/BPWA3YbhPQe/?taken-by=germanban
My favourite work so far. Modeled this maybe 1-2 years ago. It's not totally accurate but it's good enough for the projecct I've been planning and slowly working on. Bell housing needs to be redone and it doesn't have a transmission yet.
Still bad at rendering. lol Finally used one of the body builder manuals I purchased awhile back to make something.
OT- I want to model a car, but am out of ideas. Any suggestions? Only requirements is that is not overly complicated, and it has blueprints, as I am a novice Thanks in advance
Maybe a newer model of a current car in game? Should be somewhat easy because you'll just have to tweak the model and redesign an engine. 2017 bolide?
I need some help with the particle system in blender :/ I was trying to make some sprinkles, but it just explodes. View attachment 240591
Trying to use Blender for the first time since at least a year. I did not even learn to use it properly the first time, so I am kinda happy with what I have done right now.
