I've been sitting on this gem since oh, 2006. It's a scratch built version originally destined for rFactor. I'm adapting it to this game because I think BeamNG needs a small fun race track for hot lapping. I've been plugging away at some cross-platform issues for months, and finally gained some headway. Download it here: http://www.beamng.com/resources/trial-mountain.285/ So far I have the drive-able parts of the race track modeled 99% out to the guard rails. I still might add some trees rocks and flags, but the track surface, corner radius's, banking and elevation changes are all dialed in to my linking. I've been writing the multi-textured materials, so everything looks good on the surface. Art-wise the track is really taking shape and I'm running out of non-Beam-ED tasks to work on. Just finished up; road lines, grass transitions, brake zone skid marks background hills and scenery and perfected the race groove. Here's some previews: Some test renders from rFactor: I'll be releasing it for BeamNG only.
Sounds awesome, Trial Mountain has always been one of my favorite GT tracks. Any pics? Good luck with this.
This will be an interesting addition to BeamNG. But please, do add some pics or screenshots of your progress!
Ah... the good memories of Gran Turismo are coming... This looks awesome! I love the lump on the right side of the final corner of the track, I always used it to flip my cars. Got an achievement for a certain number of rolls even... This version better include it.
My video card died over the weekend, and I'm stuck using my mobo's nForce 630a integrated for a while. I'm continuing to finish the geometry since 3DS Max still works fine, and my rFactor version loads and is playable, but I can't even launch the game, so there won't be any screenshots. Maybe I'll just show you my progress from rFactor.
Friday update: Ive been working hard (in Max and rFactor) putting together new assets and polishing things up. My new video card arrived but wont run, so back the the drawing board on that problem. Completed; the new guardrails, concrete barriers, road lines, polished up the track surface; fixed lots of holes and whops in the track. I'm tweaking textures now, so the grass, road cliffs and sand all mesh together seamlessly. I found some great bump and specular textures to really make the track pop visually. Next up; Adding in of the pit and spectator area objects, and of course trees... if I get the game working soon. I hope to get some screen shots out soon, at least some from my rFactor build.
Added some screen shots from my rFactor1 build. Don't mind the lack of trees and boulders, they'll get added quickly once I get my PC fixed.
I finally finished getting all the track parts together for a test build. http://www.beamng.com/resources/trial-mountain.285/
