Update Speculation thread

Didn't even notice. I mean I don't notice anthing (lol), but still. Really pretty useless. Those should control things like the two-tones on certain cars.

 

I'm pegging the next update for mid to late December, considering gabe said that the LeGran had some texturing bugs and needed to be retextured completely. WCU will probably take another month at least, if not more. Italy might be more completed than they lead us to believe, but it's likely not coming out earlier than late December. Career mode is probably happening in the new year.

Also, the hype train is growing.

 

Well, there are two tone(ish) mods on the forums, the one wher each of the colour selector menus changed the colour of a certain area of the car

Interesting, so next update will be 7.0.0? IIRC one of devs said that 0.7 or 0.8-0.9 will be Beta stage. Couldn't find evidence now.

 

If that were the case, then we should expect the game to be at least somewhat near completion. It's certainly not, however.

I don't know why, but something tells me that the beta stage will begin when all of the currently modeled vehicles (i.e. the LeGran, Wendover and Bluebuck; possibly more if the devs are sneaky) are fully in game.

 

but let's not get ahead of our selves now, that is maybe a year or less or more from now so just enjoy the things that will come between and talk about "beta" speculation at version 0.9.5.0 or 1.0.0.0 or something like that let's hope for this friday

Oh, there are many mods like that and there is already the two tone on the miramar for the luxe

 

It won't be anytime soon. The devs, last I heard, were having trouble with the LeGran's mesh and texture, plus Italy and West Coast are still extremely WIP.

I say early November.

 

that would be a bit too long. We don't want this game to end up like NCG Wreckfest now do we?

 

we had a giant period of time without an update. i dont remember how long. so i would just say set you times far, and be happy when the update comes earlier than you thought

 

But then the difference is that there was a smaller community base back then and we didn't have problems with steam reviews. i'm ok with it happening once in awhile but if it happens time after time it could ruin the community.


I'm ok with long update waiting periods but I want to expect a fairly large sized chunk of content.

 

Remember when the game updated every 6 months? THAT was a long time. 2-3 months isn't even half of that.

 

Yeah, I remember that. The game shipped 2013, at the beginning of August or September. A few patches were released over a few days, then about a month later came the update that brought us the Moonhawk, and a patch or two for that one. Beyond that, we didn't see another update until June of the next year and seldom heard from the devs in the interrim. So, the beginning of September/October to late June would be about eight and a half to nine and a half months.

 

at least we had a small community making mods back then.
