I think it should be worth mentioning that the only noticeable performance drop was on this map. All the rest of the maps (vanilla or mod) haven't noticeably changed in performance for better or worse. I'm wondering if all of the light sources that you have in the form of street lights is what causes the dynamic shadows to tank the game, as I think that is unique to your map.
I doubt it, only for the fact that I have another map that does it WORSE but it does not have light sources yet.
I did a test, you can see how there is loss of 35fps and bit higher memory usage, with lower fps it might be less impact though. 0.15.0.6 is CPU limited 216fps: 0.16.0.2 is GPU limited and clearly lower FPS at 181fps: Then again at such fps I don't really know if it matters too much But why it is often 4th gen intel CPUs that I see when there is talk about 0.16 performing poorly, what could there be in that?
I have the same issue i went from 65-70 FPS down to 25-or less... Is there a reason for this? it used to run great in older versions. this recent set of updates has rather oddly made it run poorly compared to the out of the box maps with the exception of WCUSA that always ran weird. But I'm genuinely curious on why this map runs poorly after the updates.
There needs to be something common within all setups that have been affected such way, it might be OS side of thing, CPU generation, GPU or it's drivers, some other program or just some setting. I have noticed that several people that have slowdown issue has 4th generation intel, some seem to have AMD GPU, but it is such random that it is really hard to find anything certain, so more data would be need to be shared from each setup that something common could be found. It can be even sound related. Figuring out indidual CPU core load, GPU load etc. before and after update can also bring additional details as knowing if it is hardware performance limit and if it is CPU or GPU limit can tell something about where issue might lie. Super difficult if there is no way to replicate slowdown issue. so statistical comparison might be then only way to find out why such is happening. Also reshade can mess up performance big time in certain cases, for some that has been reason.
Little bug i noticed while playing. The invisible wall Other then that. im loving the maps you are making for beamng. keep up the great work!
I gave this map another try today, and lowering grass density dramaticaly increased fps for me, from 10/20fps to 40/50fps
bob.blunderton updated Nevada Interstate (prequel to So-Cal Interstate) with a new update entry: Nevada Interstate fixes for 0.18 update and some traffic bugs Read the rest of this update entry...
I do feel like someone could do a major revamp of this map (even So-Cal) with updated terrain, signage and so forth.
