In my opinion, many vehicles in Beam just don't have the amount of engine choices they need. It would be a great boon to the lower-end config variety if the engine palettes were more realistic.

    What I think we need:

    - D-Series - model-years-specific engine versions with different HP/torque ratings, a big-block V8, a non-turbo diesel, and South American models with a smaller V6 gasoline engine and smaller I4 diesel (~3 litres).

    - Covet - smaller gasoline engine (1.3), and maybe a 4-cylinder diesel too. Also regional differences in specs.

    - H-Series - same as D-Series, except for the Latinoamerican versions.

    - Roamer - more powerful engines for the later model years, maybe a factory diesel option.

    - Moonhawk - differences in output between model years, an older version of the LeGran V6s, smaller I6 engine, two small-block (one in the high 200s, the other in the low 300s of ci) V8 engines, a larger big-block (mid-400s of ci), also maybe a truck-oriented V8 around 400 ci and a 378 ci diesel.

    - Special - 4-barrel carburettor option.

    - 200BX - Regional differences in specs, the 1.8 and 2.0 turbo engines in factory spec cars, also finally the Gavril V8 swap.

    - Older Pessima - regional spec differences, an I4 diesel engine for the Euro version.

    - Newer Pessima - supercharger kit for the V6, maybe also year-specific output differences.

    - Miramar - 1.4 I4 engine, a non-GTz 1.9 model, an I4 diesel engine.

    - 800-Series - smaller turbo I4, a turbo I4 between the 854t and 856t, a V8 option for an 858ttsport, 2 new 4-cylinder turbodiesels below and above the 854td, a 4-cylinder biturbodiesel below the 856td, a 6-cylinder biturbodiesel, more powerful 856ttsport and I6 biturbodiesel in Alpina vein, a Brabus-style V12 version. I4 and I6 hybrids.

    - K-Series - similar changes to the 800 ones, but without the lowest basic engines.

    - Sunburst - smaller 1.6 I4, 2.0 I4 turbodiesel, more powerful special editions of the Sport S.

    - I-Series - different pre-and post-facelift outputs, 2000 and 2000i I4s, an I6 engine between the 2400 and 3000, a V8 engine in non-ttsport and ttsport versions, a more powerful Alpina/AMG/Brabus-like V8, an I4 diesel, I5 and I6 non-turbo and turbodiesels.

    - Piccolina - different power outputs in different years of the same engine, smaller 900cc engine.

    - LeGran - different power outputs in different years of the same engine, a 4.0 or so V6 diesel.

    What do you think?

    I don't think the 800 Series should get a V8 Or V12 The K-Series Also don't need a V8 Or V12.
However I Agree on everything else

They do need M3/AMG-style, more powerful, factory engines, as well as Brabus-like high performance options.

Come to think about it, a V8 between those two would also be nice for Alpina-like cars.

Just use expansion mods. There are tons of mods that add lots and lots of config to each car, including more engines and new parts.

I agree with most of the suggestions, but a few diesel engines.

Like, I can't really see the Pessima Mk1 getting a diesel engine for Europe, not with import tariffs in full swing (which limited investments toward region-specific differentiations) and back in a day when japanese vehicles were still a niche choice in Europe, and diesels in passenger cars had still a relatively limited audience.

First diesel in a Pessima would ideally power the Euro-spec version of the missing generation inbetween the older and the newer one currently in game.

There was a diesel Camry in the late 80s and early 90s (in fact, IIRC it was the last diesel Camry), and the region-specific stuff would mainly be Asian vs American versions.

Early '90s is exactly the "missing" generation between the older and newer Pessimas in game at the moment. Plus, the Camry would be one class above the Pessima.

First japanese midsizer to be offered with a diesel engine was the Nissan Primera in 1992, which was also manufactured in Europe. The Honda Accord only got a diesel option with the EUDM 5th generation (1993), also built in Europe to circumvent import tariffs. Toyota Carina E (T190) was the first diesel Toyota in this class, from 1993, built in the UK.

Does anyone know the dimensions to check that? Because the Pessima seems to be the US midsizer and Euro executive car of the Ibishu range - like the Camry IRL.

Also, the Primera may have been the first in Western Europe. In places like Poland you could buy diesel Camries.

Looks closer to the size of a 3rd/4th generation Accord, and bears a strong similarity in terms of shape and proportions with the T12 Nissan Violet/Auster/Bluebird. Both were midsizers in EU terms which ended up playing the flagship role in the respective ranges as their size increased with each following generation and luxury models of the brands were phased out.
Primera was one class below. Its diesel engine however was installed in the EUDM T12 at the end of its carreer.

I actually managed to find Ytrewq measuring the Pessima.
452 cm is more or less as much as the 2nd generation Toyota Camry.

It's also the size of the T12 Bluebird.

Anyway, older Pessima is apparently 1988-1991, I was pretty sure it was older, so a diesel alternative might make sense after all.

I really hope we get an "if it fits it ships" engine swap system someday. Some really strange swaps for the '53 Special inspired by Cuban cars would be appreciated.
