as car new cars are all just about the same save for the only differences being the body type, SUV, sedan and minivan are the only noticeable things that set them all apart so I doubt that there will be new modern cars except for facelifts. Even those are a rare sight these days as supposedly "new" cars are usually around 5-7 years old now that are just facelifts of the previous cars. Remember when we got exited for a brand new, just design car arrive on the show room floor, man that feels like a century ago. 1979 would be the last rememberable year for car designs for me... then the '80s happened this to this
at least it looked good, and four years isn't that bad, look at the Toyota Camry, its lasted 8 years without any modifications to the body design at all

) Man that car is so overrated now it isn't even funny, sure its ok looking but what is there to be exited about I mean, the underpinnings were pretty much the same as the 1950 model, brakes and all and the engines were hardly admirable ( the powerglide was good though), oh if you look at the body closely you'll see a hint of 1954 in it as well. The packages you got from the factory were hardly worth the money, you pay for hot engine all you got was slightly less weezy v8 ( modification were ripe for the picking with the 265 chev V8) and maaaaybe a slushy two speed auto while at other companies you got a proper V8 engine and beefed up suspension for the same money you spent on buying the new '57 chev family sedan and if you had a little extra coin you would get long, low, wide sleek looking coupe for the same money as the '57 chev V8 family sedan. oh well people can spend their money on what ever they want I suppose but if one is looking for value for money then one would must look away from the Pirates at GM ( unless of course you want to do some serious butchering to a car for mods and racing and what not then of course take the chevs)
Hey, I'd love an LS swapped '57 Chevy, and imho GM didn't produce a bad looking vehicle from 1949-1959 - and dated styling or not at least they ran reliably. What did Chrysler offer in the mid-late 50's, the Belvedere/Fury? Lol, it's a wonder there's even any of those left.
"Almost the same as the 1950 model" are you an actual goblin. The engine was completely redesigned, the chassis heavily updated, suspension re-done, body completely restyled, etc.
yeah just about any V8 Chrysler would leave the most powerful Chevrolet in the weeds, Plymouths especially yes the whole car was updated but it was still the same chassis and suspension and brakes until 1958 albeit in heavy modified form look the car is not without its merit but there are just better handling, more powerful and better stopping late fifties automobiles out there, and yes chevrolets are ripe for modifications because they are one of the most common classic cars out in the world and because they are very simply vehicles. It is a good car, not a brilliant car
The car has to make it across the finish line in one piece for that argument to have merit - late-fifties Chryslers were absolute trash, cheaply built and thrown together on the assembly line.

Every chryshler has shit build quality. Which is a shame. They make some good ass looking cars. The plymouth Prowler and Chry crossfire dont look half bad. The CTS/STS/XLR looks amazing as far as exotic sedans go, and the norstar by THEORY has nothing wrong with it. All aluminum small displacement high revving DOHC V8 with fuel injection. And yet chryshler made everything's build quality so low the butched the chance to make a car of luxury main concern, european sports car design second.
That's two threads in maybe two days with people talking about how bad (Daimler era) Chryslers were... I like my 2005 Jeep. It's miles ahead of the 2006 Ford in the family at least... OT: I got nothing.
I thought this thread was about vehicles from the fifties, not the early 2000's Chryslers, but yeah just about any Chrysler made after 1989 were completely forgettable and probably worse built than the '57-'59 Chryslers
