I don't mean to be the "look at this abandoned concept" guy, especially since Falkrum was "viewing update speculation thread a moment ago", but we know that they had plans for a fully electric vehicle after the eSBR... Not saying we will get an unconfirmed vehicle, just that an electric car is not out of the question. Besides, with how many manufacturers are going heavily or fully electric by early 2020's, virtually any post 2020 model year car is fair game for an electric drive train. 0.16 Discussion Thread
Im not the biggest fan of EVs. I also think that the eSBR is enough for now, and that they should work on cars that are more useful or filling more gaps in the lineup. But if that is what the devs are going to give us, then there is not much i can do.
the hood lines look a bit to modern for a 200bx, a modern super car like a Rimac, mclaren or a ferrari are more likely due to the shape of the hood and how modern the badges look, then again it could be a custom 200bx this is all based on speculation my photoshop that i posted earlier to represent the basic concept idea behind a sports/hypercar (and no Im not a kid that want one of these hyper cars, I would much rather a suv/crossover personally) --- Post updated --- Jargl or Charmand seem to fit best
i know, but it actually could be a custom 200bx,or a modern 200bx under a sporty name --- Post updated --- but on a serious note, the v10 that was going to make its way into the k seris at a later day(read it somewhere) could make its way into this vehicle
AFAIK the only thing confirmed for the K-Series is "bigger" engines, not specifically a V10. 0.16 Discussion Thread The V10 is just commonly speculated since the sound file exists and the K-Series has room for one. Maybe there's unused badges I don't know about though, but even then it could easily be something from an abandoned idea.
iirc, diamondback (or maybe it was someone else) has stated that the v10 sound files were simply something they had access to and decided to add to the game, without necessarily planning to use them. way back when the new V10" sound was introduced, not "V10_2" (which is better in every way, and seems to be brought in along with the modified automation sounds (b6, i3, v16, v12, etc.)) also; adding this here since it shows off the new detachable frame for the d-series:
Whoa I missed a lot Guess that's what I get for being in school Anyways, I know I said that the new car (the arrow car) may not be British, but I completely forgot about Aston Martin. Not gonna lie, It kinda resembles an Aston Martin's front end. Maybe British luxury exotic? (Kinda brain-dead and my speculation mindset is kinda gone. I just want that damn Hopper crawler already...)
I was hoping the new vehicle would have been a European truck that rivaled the T-series but sadly not. I just hope it's a good vehicle but who knows. I was also hoping that glass would change tint when it's night time without dynamic reflations but now water and glass both sit at the same level regardless of time. So now you get glow in the dark water.
Despite some people's claims that it's (very conveniently) definitely going to be whatever car they happen to want the most... ...I think we simply don't have enough information to make an accurate guess as to what this new car is. However, there is a lot that can be said about what this car isn't. To the people who think it'l be a Jargl (still a stupid name) or Charmand, you are aware that the logo consists of two R's (or one R and a U with a kink in it), right? I suppose it could represent a model name, like the old Hyundai Genesis, but that seems unlikely considering the fact that both "Jargl" and "Charmand" are words that have, to the best of my knowledge, only appeared on a six-year old concept list, that was not intended to be published (so I've heard), quickly deleted, and never once mentioned again (to the best of my knowledge, and no the Hopper doesn't count). As for the car itself, the shape of the car doesn't look like an SUV, at least to me. First and foremost, nearly every SUV nowadays has a huge, chunky badge plastered in the center of the grille. In fact, this has been true pretty much ever since the modern day incarnation of the SUV first appeared, though they were a little less chunky back then. It's also pretty reasonable to say that it's probably not any older than 2000, given its semi-rounded front end and relatively new-looking badge design. I get that this a thread for speculation, but it's my belief that speculation of this kind, save for humor, should be grounded in reality. Boy am I going to look stupid if all of this gets proved wrong when the car comes out. Coming soon: The 1999 Jargl Squit RR Crossover SUV Lack of content? Was the complete overhauling of three vehicles, a map, and the lighting system not enough for you? Do you need a new car with every incremental update to be satisfied? You must have forgotten that the people who work on this game are actual humans, with lives outside of keeping your thirst for new vehicles quenched. You also forgot that most people with jobs in the United States and Europe take at least a week off for holidays like Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year's. The closest thing we'll get to a "two part update" will (probably) be a hotfix similar to 0.17.1, which added the overhauled Grand Marshal, most likely no earlier than January. They did say that this was only "Phase One" of the Pickup overhaul.
hmmm, just maybe it looks somewhat similar minus the space between the grille and hood Edit: heeeeeelllllllp, I think I broke my typing colour
the mystery car has a gap between the hood and what appears to be the front fascia. the 240Z in the image you posted does not have said gap.
Charmand was mentioned once outside the concept list: Not sure about any other mentions of either brand. The way I see it, the concept list should be treated as just that, some old concepts. We know the names got thrown around, so in general it's fair game for speculation, certainly better than pulling random stuff out of a hat. I agree that the badge and panel gap aren't enough to make any real statements though; neither brand strikes me as the type to have a luxury sub-brand or unique badges to match the RR-uno card. As for the possibility of a 0.18.1, I find it incredibly strange that the comp crawler was ready for SEMA 5 weeks before the update but not in the update, and shown off both in the 0.18.0 devblog and again today in the development media section. A 0.18.1 with the comp Hopper (and maybe more attention to the D-Series*) is a strong possibility IMO. *That wouldn't be much time for a part 2, but maybe some smaller stuff. The shorty seems to have been thrown in last minute since it is WIP without much content. A smaller update could at least give it the basics like a full interior and a roof. I know I am heavily biased because I really want it, but the large number of chrome parts and the 1980's style "Lifted" config really makes me think we will see a pre-facelift version someday. All it requires is a fascia, mirrors, bumpers, and detuned engine, so that's also fair for a quicker release.
