Only if Nodes will stop having spasms, take for instance the Hopper's softtop. Its really buggy with the beam regenerator.

Satsuma also have convertible version. However if you will start messing with it you'll notice a lot of issues with it. Remember, because it working fine with untouched car that doesn't mean it won't make any troubles when you crash and try use it.

Don't forget the much more recent Oldsfullsize convertible, which is perhaps currently the best example of a working convertible softtop in the game.

Sorry, but this thread is not the place for that.

On topic: As of me writing this. There is nothing new on the devblog page yet and there may not be any information at all talking about what this next update will be like. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Not too sure about that :p
The current version uses a lot of nodes and moves the same as the real life equivalent. Which isn't a power-retractable softtop but has to be folded by hand.
I do think that folding tops are possible and I think that the devs should add them to the game. But not now since we have this interior muffling that you can't turn off...

If you'd actually check the chain of posts, that wasn't about the ingame car, it was about a real car that someone compared the ingame car to. I just hate "cab forward" styling in general, regardless of age.

although, TDK has apparently been working on an updated cabin noise filter for quite a while.

Well, maybe we've already mentioned this bit before, but does anybody else remember that the 0.18.0 update contained what the devblog referred to as the D-series overhaul, Phase One?

Does anybody else care to speculate about phase 2? My guess is that the long-requested utility box will be part of it.

Almost certainly: (Both mentioned by others a couple of pages ago)
    Frame/axle texture updates
    Finish the unibody-on-frame truck
+Misc. customization parts, including hydraulic suspension

    Maybe:
    The tow truck
Misc. uplifts (some of which might require a lengthened frame, such as a rollback and ramp truck. They are high on the "uplifts we need" category, but this truck has so many frames as is that those are questionable)
    Big block engine

    Let me dream:
Heavy duty truck axles (2.5 ton? I don't know exactly how big the ones I'm thinking of are)
Nearly the entirety of AR162B's recently updated mod. That mod adds a lot of things I want to see officially.

I do! I'm really hoping that phase 2 will beef up the number of interesting configs for the Roamer and van.
I like the D Series a lot and I appreciate the 52 (yes there are 52) configs for it, but I'm really hoping for some more add-ons to the H Series & Roamer in the next update to keep things interesting.

The tow truck addon is practically the half life 3 of beamng updates. Still keeping my fingers crossed.

I've been thinking about the tow truck lately, and I think I know a way to make the wheel lift work without ropables:

    upload_2020-1-24_22-33-59.png upload_2020-1-24_22-32-36.png

Basically, what I'd like to see is a system that relies on two limp, non-colliding beams (green) attached to the outer corners of the wheel lift (the red nodes), joined by a connector node (blue). When the connector is engaged, in a method similar to the trailer, the beams connect to the node at the center of the wheel, and then retract with a slight amount of force, similar to the nodegrabber on low settings. The beams are variable in length enough (read: stretchy) to accept various wheel sizes, but retract with enough strength to keep them firmly planted in the wheel lift without blowing out the tires.
