I downloaded 3 different car mods (zip-file with installer), upon opening it...
All 3 car mods have one extra file folder inside.
    1st file : vehicles
    2nd file : art/sound/blends, engine
I tried placing the "art" folder in BeamNG.drive (where vehicles folder is located) - It didn't work.
I then tried placing the "art" folder in BeamNG.drive/vehicles (inside vehicles folder) - It doesn't work.
Where does the "art" folder go?

Same here. I'm assuming you downloaded from world of mods as well? Anyone know where this folder goes? And no, I don't need the people to come on here and tell me not to use worldofmods. I actually found some really great quality mods.

thats some world of mods shit, right? you dont need to use any installers or open any zips, ever. just copy paste the .zip files into documents\beamng.drive\mods and you're good to go

No. The mods say to install them directly in the game folder. The cars work fine, but the art folder typically contains the sound and that doesn't work. I did entertain your idea and put it in the mods folder, and the car doesn't show up at all.

could you post a link to the mod so i can take a look at it? any properly packaged mod should be able to just be dropped into \mods

Excuse me what? Thats not how you install mods. If you need to do that to a mod contact the mod creator in dms because they obviously f*ked up.

There's the mod file. Like I said, it says to install them directly in the game folder and it works perfectly that way. The only problem is very few mods have an art folder, this particular one does.

Yes, I realize how to install zips into the mod folder, I've got plenty of other mods done like that. As I've said three times now, these mods say to install them directly into the game folder. I don't know why they say that, i don't know how they are packaged like that, but that's what it says and that's all I know. Why you are coming into this with an attitude, and acting like I'm not understanding what you are saying is beyond me. What i do know is the way that it says to do it works perfectly fine, except this particular mod has an art folder. What do you want from me?

Oh that explains it you're using pirated mods. I thought it was stuff from the beamng website which would have been confusing lol

I don't know if they're pirated or not, but it lists an author who used to do mods over here. Seems legit to me.

Anything that isnt from Beamng.com isnt legit. 99% of the time the models they use are pirated or stolen from video games.

I see that claim a lot but I've never seen proof. In particular the models that i have have properly done jbeams, sound, and full customization. (Even the real life engine codes are in) either way, I found amazing mods that's all I really care about.

The car mod in question is the : Alpine A110 from modland.net.

As for the insult of : "0 understanding on how to install mods."
If you have a problem with other peoples questions...
then don't waste your precious time answering them.

I thought this community was about helping out fellow BeamNG.drive persons, I guess I was wrong!?

I place the car mods in 2 different places for them to work for me, they are...

    E:/OneDrive/Documents/BeamNG.drive/mods
    &
    E:/OneDrive/Documents/BeamNG.drive/vehicles

The last one sometimes comes with other files for : common, art, wheels, tires, licenseplates, trailers, hubcaps

Sorry for a longer read then what most people will provide you with, I'm a Virgo and we Virgo's are antic or pedantic or called funny names like Camp *Rolls my Eyes*

Most 3rd party mod sites pack the mod zip differently with a read me added inside of the zip for the non English speaking gamers, Sure some are badly made mods but most originally came from BeamNG.com which I think most people forget about.. Make sure you select the "download the zip-file without installer" option... Like this example of a crappy looking nightmare of a car mod titled as 356-lincoln-town-car-1985.zip, I use a free tool called 7-zip to right click on the zip file then go into the 7-zip context menu and left click on the extract to 356-lincoln-town-car-1985 then open the extracted/uncompressed folder 3 times to open it to the correct folder to rename it after the mod name with version no, then right click on the folder and go into the 7-zip menu and left click on "Add to Lincoln Town car 1985.zip" which will compress it back to Lincoln Town car 1985.zip which is now ready to use so then cut it out to paste on the outside of the container folder then it can be copied or dragged to the "BeamNG Game User Folder\Mods" which is normally in the user\documents folder... I used to relocate feature in the Game Launcher UI to move it from my SDD to my SATA to save space on the SDD. In the mods folder I created extra folders named like -0- -1- -2- -3- as a simple way to organise my mods with the main do not remove mods added to the -0- folder and Maps added to the -1- folder and mods added to the -2- folder and all other configs/boats/planes/props added to the -3- folder as there is limited space in the mod menu so you really want to see the mod/map/config/prop title so you can decide if you want to activate it or leave it deactivated, naming each folder as it's destination made it harder to see the mod/map/config/prop name as it didn't really fit in the section available so I used numbers instead to allow more room for the title in the mod menu. Then once installed and activated simple click on the Support Box and click on Clear Cache to make sure it's clean ready to use before clicking on the Launch Game button..

Yes lots of people say 3rd party mod sites are bad and are filled with virus's etc, I've never ever found a virus in a mod zip file, Sure I can understand the trick installer file may catch some people out as I believe that is where the hidden virus/malware is located but BeamNG doesn't use that feature, You only want the .zip file.

Believe it not but I've actually downloaded dev made mods from 3rd party sites when they was having problems trying to release it on BeamNG.com so gave up after cracking the shits and used an outside source to host it.
