It absolutely could get a racing varient, piaggio ape racing is a big thing and Pigeon racing with modded Pigeons is a ton of fun (just look at Jimmy Broadbent's stream when he did it) A racing Pigeon would really need to be a super build, so not really content that would come in a remaster. Some misc parts and a Belasco PD meter maid/security car are definetly needed though (NYPD has 2 models of trikes like the Pigeon currently in service)
Finally, that means they will focus on the new one and finally fix it I hope. Also, it would be nice if the new one had full documentation on that new documentation system.
Career mode is coming very soon. Here was my evidence as of 9 days ago. Since then, I got much more evidence, and I revised my old evidence. Here is my proof that Career mode will come within the next year: (I put everything in spoilers because this post is hundreds of words long) Spoiler: Repair price (and potentially saved damage?) Repair price (and potentially saved damage?): In the Gravity Fuel scenario, when you crash your Piccolina, you get a notification in the top left telling you how much money it will cost to repair the damage. This is a feature that is only useful in career mode and a couple scenarios. It was added in early 2020, which was almost a year ago. I am not sure how much time they dedicate to working on Career mode, but you can do a lot in a year. Spoiler: Open-world garages and dealerships that the player can buy parts from Open-world garages and dealerships that the player can buy parts from: In the 0.19 changelog, it was said that the Garage mode was "temporarily removed pending improvements to the way the Garage is integrated into BeamNG.drive gameplay". Then, in 0.22, garages were added back (along with dealerships) in a completely different way - in the open world instead of a menu screen. The player in Career mode will likely be able to buy cars and parts from dealerships and garages, and then be able to build things in local garages. These garages and dealerships probably wouldn't be added until just before career mode, as they serve no purpose currently. Spoiler: Talk of a new campaign that could potentially be the Career mode Talk of a new campaign that could potentially be the Career mode: Back in 2019, there was talk of a new campaign. The most recent campaign we've gotten is Hustle and Bustle, which is from 2018. This new campaign might not even be a campaign at all, but the long-awaited Career mode. Spoiler: Barrel Knocker scenario is possibly a mission for Career Barrel Knocker scenario is possibly a mission for Career: In the newest update, 0.22, we got 6 new scenarios. One of these scenarios is called the "Barrel Knocker". In the descriptions (seen below), there is a character talking to you in an accent from the southern USA. This character could potentially be the player's sidekick in Career mode that helps the character out. The fact that they uploaded a scenario that could potentially be from Career mode means that Career is being worked on and currently has a set storyline. If it has a set storyline, that means almost all the functionality is in place and it is currently being worked on. Spoiler: Descriptions containing Career mode character Spoiler: Walking mode Walking mode: As we all know, you are able to get out of your vehicle and walk around as of 0.22. Right now, the walking mode is very cool, but quite useless as there is really nothing to do outside of your car. But once Career comes out, walking will make a lot more sense. You can get out of your car to work on the engine if it breaks down while you are driving, walk around your car and put parts on it in a garage (think Car Mechanic Sim 2018), walk through dealerships to find good cars you can buy. So many possibilities for walking in Career, but very limited possibilities for walking in Freeroam. Spoiler: Misc Misc: The Soliad Wendover came with many aftermarket parts that are not used in any configurations. It makes sense that there will be many aftermarket parts when the Career mode comes out, where you are able to swap most parts onto any car. I remember seeing somewhere that a developer confirmed that the career mode button was clickable in the development build of the game, but unfortunately I do not have the source.
There is the RWD output shaft (AWD layouts are used but no RWD layouts), locked differentials for front & rear, and I believe some more suspension parts.
Due to the garages and dealerships, i think the career mode will start on Utah, right after a rocky start happened
That is a good thought, but I expect Utah to be late-game. Because of the types of dealerships, I think you will start in West Cost and Italy, then move to East Coast and Utah. The reason I think this is because West Coast and Italy have junk car dealerships while East Coast and Utah don't.
I may be biased here as an American, but if you think about it from the racing market point of view, it seems Utah and Italy are two alternative starting points, going through West coast (or ETK driving center, depending on that getting redone into a German map eventually*), culminating in East Coast (or that Great plains/Texas that has previously been speculated**). Spoiler: * The devs do live in Germany after all, and there's tons of potential there. Spoiler: ** This was before the remaster of Small Island IIRC, and I still think there's a good chance.
This is sort of what I hope, but as I said, there aren't any junk car dealerships in Utah so I doubt it will be a starting area. Where/when was that from?
From what I remember people speculated that just before the Small Island remaster, and I think there's still possibility there, even if somewhat dormant.
A Great Plains area sounds great, especially if it is the size of Italy. Kilometers of open 2-lane country roads with crisscrossed gravel paths and a few small towns, maybe one lone highway on the side of the map... it would be a great addition to the game, and probably would replace East Coast as my favorite map. I believe that a Great Plains map is a definite possibility, but I think the developers would be more focused on adding a snow-covered map like Finland, as there isn't any snow in the game yet except for a little bit on the Automation Track.
True, true, although I think better weather controls might be part of UI v3, as that way one could customize the maps without needing to actually use the editor (which is hard on lower-end PC's)
Was full weather support ever on the feature list for the future? Because i think i can remember something like that but i guess its some way off still
Yes, it's very possible, but we don't want to remove old editor when new one is still missing some - not many at this point - features. I honestly want to be sure that everyone, especially modders won't have any issues with making maps because we forgot to implement something
AYE WHO THE FUCK ADDED A UNICYCLE i know this is sort of off topic but this...just...this...i know what the next update is there's also a mattress so...i'm just gonna lay all this info out here and yall can run with it if you want. speculate till your fingers crack
