Does this mean you hop out of a car ( maybe doors can open ) And go to the car you want and legit hop in it, Beamng.drive and Beamng.walk? Just dont make it like Qwop Guys
this is amazing. ive been thinking for ages that a forzavista-style way of walking around cars would really help people appreciate the detail that goes into every car
I was thinking there could be a joke update on April 1st and then the real update would be on April 2nd.
This is a bit of a stretch, but I think that Career mode might come out within the next year. In 0.19, they removed the Garage mode "pending improvements to the way the Garage is integrated into BeamNG.drive gameplaysource". This "improvement" could be the Career mode. Walking mode makes a lot of sense in Career, but not in anything that is currently in the game (besides maybe the 'Rocky Start' campaign), which leads me to believe that Career and Walking mode will come out together. The Soliad Wendover, which will almost definitely come out in 0.22, and Career Mode are possibly the two most hyped updates ever in Beamng.drive so the developers may want to bring them both into the game at the same time (But I don't know the developers so possibly not). There was also a mention of a new campaignsource back in 2019 and the last campaign we have gotten was Hustle and Bustle in 2017 or 2018. That campaign could possibly be the Career mode. What do you think about all this? Plausible? If there is anything I missed, let me know.
I like that they are finally implementing it, I found references to it in the code a while ago, the unicycle 'vehicle'
I suppose you could be right, but I feel like the developers would be giving us more teasers and stuff if it was going to release this year. But, again, idk for sure.
I wonder what gameplay elements the walking mode would have, if any? Is it just going to be RoR-style, or is it going to be incorporated into things like going into shops and stuff for campaign mode? Either way I'm looking forward to it. Games like The Long Drive or My Summer Car are great to me because they're focused on driving, but still hammer home the idea that a vehicle is a vehicle, and sometimes you gotta park it and do something on foot. There's a lot of ways they could make it work without walking (SLR:R comes to mind), but I'm glad it looks like they're going the deeper route.
Walking mode looks nice, but I'd really like to see view bobbing and footstep sound effects (based on terrain) to really complete the package.
