Welp. For once in my life, I have no complaints, other than that once again, we got a crusty low-res jpeg
is it just me or does the design give vibes of something that would've been in split/second? (in a good way i mean)
New wheels (Civetta and Covet) New Civetta Remastered Covet PBR for some maps (unspecified which and how many) Graphic update New police lights New plates
Tried to get a pretty close comparison between the Bastion photo posted by the devs and the closest that I could get in game. In order to try to match the shadows I cranked up the contrast for the SSAO, but I also took another image with stock SSAO settings. SSAO with increased contrast: Stock SSAO: Official: The biggest difference I'm noticing is that the SSAO is no longer "Muddy", and by that I mean that the SSAO and shadows actually stop at the bodywork and seem to be placed onscreen much more intently, rather than being muddily applied around anywhere not directly in sunlight. The overall tonemapping looks way more realistic, though without being muted, and the dynamic reflections look much deeper, and take a lot more of the color from their surroundings onto the body panels in a way that almost looks like global illumination.
My goodness, the new Civetta looks amazing!! Even though I wanted the new Civetta to be called the "Fulmine", the "Scintilla" nameplate (which is Italian for "Spark") suits it great. A spark is quick/fast, emits light and is made of fire (just like the Bolide is), so it perfectly describes a Supercar. It also implies that the car we see here is powered by petrol because, well, the spark plug is a vital component to a gasoline engine. So could an electric version be on the way too?
I don't see it being an EV. Styling wise, it looks like a 2014/15-on, riding alongside the huracan/aventador in production times. It lacks the level of being overdone that modern cars seem to come with - not really the timeline for an EV. Plus, the previous teaser confirmed ICE with the cutaway.
Idk, the front end looks complicated enough (not overdone, since it looks great too) for the car to be newer than 2019. Plus, the fact that we saw the engine cutaway means nothing as there could still be some content we're unaware of (like an electric version, among other things). Remember the Cherrier FCVs: the Vivace was teased and all of a sudden, in its 0.19 Update video, we also saw the Tograc!
So there's two ways this could go and either way is fine: either it showcases all the latest refinements in BeamNG supercar simulation tech like driving modes, active aero and maybe even KERS, or it's just an all-around brute like the Bolide before it. Maybe there are options for both!
Opening doors in cars is probably confirmed on twitter: https://twitter.com/beamng/status/1534226342354493447
I agree, although there are lots of super cars that overcomplicate the front, some are style trying to keep it simple (which more manufacturers should) Really a great looking car. Honestly it’s one of my favorite recent designs. Really curious to see the rear.
Hopefully it releases by June 23rd, as thats when I get an 11 week break. Plenty of time to grind the game again.
Yep, the current Ferraris and Lambos are overcomplicated up front and there is no reason for that, especially since good aerodynamics can also be achieved with simple designs. The Scintilla is an amazing looking car and I'm also curious to see what engine it has and how it sounds! The Dev Team gave us a taste of the rear end in January but that was just a first sketch. So yes, I'm also curious to see the rear end too!
