    It might be consuming all your ram. On my 16GB system the usage is hovering around 90%

    I'm currently trying out the RADV_DEBUG=zerovram "fix"/workaround, so if that works, I'm golden. Also watching my task manager, but BNG seems to behave rn. Maybe it's actually the solution to the problem

    Thank you, but this is not the problem.

    When a car starts to oversteer the steering wheel turns to correct the slide as expected. The problem is that I have zero control of the slide because suddenly it has a big dead zone in the "new" center.

    at least for me that workaround does not appear to work, Italy still uses pretty much all of my RAM, that was yesterday on high settings with dynamic reflections set to max, only distance was unchanged, traffic with police was on (had Spotify on in the background as well)

    i'm pretty sure, yeah, since RADV is the AMD driver. Don't be too sad though. Beamng now likes to completely break my gpu driver, forcing me to reboot. I just get a black screen, and then it returns, with all the pink artifacts you could ever wish for. I hope this changes soon. It might actually be caused by that Env var

    EDIT: This now happens everytime I try to load into any map. I'm gonna check my settings, but I have no clue what to search for...

    Sorry, my response was unclear. The zerovram workaround only eliminates the vertical bar artifact, not the lockup.

    I too experienced a lockup when loading Italy but I haven't retried since because I don't want to deal with lockups.
    Though what's interesting to note is that as it happened, the VRAM usage was very high before collapsing to near zero usage for the BeamNG process, seconds before the lockup (and at that point the system was still perfectly responsive, and BeamNG still open and "loading").
    Funnily, when the lockup happened, I was greeted with a huge KDE notification spam in my headphones, but I don't know what those were about since video was already entirely frozen.

    EDIT: Something to note: RADV is not the only Vulkan driver for AMD GPUs, but it's the most common (as it's built in Mesa). One could try AMDVLK to see if there is any difference in glitchiness and crashes.

    Oh right, I'm not too familiar with that stuff. I noticed that I have AmdVLK installed, so I guess I'm using that already unless I'm required to do some further setup

    EDIT: I also actually have mesa installed, but all websites point you to an environment variable that seems to have no effect: AMD_VULKAN_ICD
    I have fidded around a bit with the settings: I changed the graphics from lowest back to normal, disabled the browser UI and reenabled Anti-Aliasing. Now it seems to work. I suspect the problem here was the "Lowest" graphics profile, since I have verified that the others are working

    back again, so first off trying to load in east coast crashed the game with "segmentation fault (core dumped)" then retrying but loading italy it loaded but slowed down the whole system, then switching to lowest graphics caused massive log spam of "335.84218|E|updateDescritorSet| Missing VK resource" and performed significantly worse than proton

    Does anyone have an idea about the mods repo? Downloading mods does not work since I just get the error "File not found", and previously downloaded mods in the repo folder refuse to load.

    Also the search bar in the keybinds selector does appear to not accept any input. Typing yields no result at all.

    I think there might be something broken in the launch configuration because I'd imagine it would use the Steam launch option window which pops up for some games at the start

    Before hotfix i could launch it, without audio of course (but it will crash my desktop quite frequently)
    Now it is just black box after launch and it doesn't do anything.

    It also seems that most scenarios crash with either malloc_consolidate(): unaligned fastbin chunk detected or 65.35100|E|getTransferCmdBuffer| Failed to begin command buffer recording.

    One that seems to work is "Goliath".

    I also noticed, that some maps are extremely laggy when loading in. Those include forest maps and Utah. Italy just refuses to load at all most of the time and crashes after a while

    Also is there a bugtracker? This is some very rudimentary way of reporting bugs....

    Agreed on bugtracker, at least some sort of github repository with templates just for bug reporting would be nice.
    Not unusual for some companies to do such thing (Valve does this often with their source games)

    I hope i just fixed the launch options. Could you please restart your steam client and check that some options menu appears after launching the game? Thanks for testing :)

    On flatpak steam it doesn't show up any options menu before launching and just tries to launch... something? not sure even what, it instantly closes. Gonna try regular steam, but i don't think this is a flatpak issue.
