Update Speculation thread

I genuinely hope you're right, that would be insanely cool

 

as you can see from the name, this indeed is the Update Speculation thread.

 

But nobody is really speculating about update contents, mostly update release

 

Do we need an update relez thread?

 

There's only so much content you can speculate about, and honestly I don't mind if we discuss about update release dates if no one goes overboard

something else of note i realised with that last covet teaser- have they ever done teasers that are actually in-motion footage of whatever new car/remaster is coming out before this? (excluding the trailers for obvious reasons i'm just talking teasers)
that to me says "mostly complete" tbh

Long time lurker here.
I thought I'd jump in with some new speculation fuel.

What do you guys think the engine position will be in the new covet?
Transverse: turbo 16, shogun, clio v6
Longitudinal: 6R4, 5 turbo

My guess is a transverse layout with AWD in combination with an I4 turbo.
But i do wonder how to are going to manage the gearbox placement.

 

I'm very concerned about the people who are going to be running this world within the next 15 - 20yrs based on this thread as of late. I think the MR Covet will be a transverse mounted V6 driving the rear wheels only in true early Group B fashion. The AWD cars came later towards the end of Group B. It doesn't make sense for a small hatchback to be AWD, especially not from c. 1985 - 1991

The Metro 6R4 was exactly that.

 

1985 was the late group b era, so the covet would never be an early group B car, and seing this car takes the rear spoiler from the mazda familia sport 4 (this model had AWD) it would not surprise me if there was AWD. plus if they allready have RWD why not add AWD since the car allready is FWD
