I don't want to discourage you, maybe it can be easier if you do it on a simple scratch made vehicle (tube chassis or something) instead of modifying a vanilla car
Please note the rule addition 7! "7. You cannot continue an older project for this challenge, it has to be a new mod." We forgot it in the initial announcement, so this is just a FYI.
Well what do you know? R4NKING (Same person who made the customizable engines mod) made one. Here's the link: https://www.beamng.com/resources/rks-offroad-trailer.25317/ He's also participating.
BeamNG.drive and Modding for Dummies official modding challenge It is finally time! In just 32 days you have all worked really hard on your entries, and once again showed how creative this community is. The spectrum of experience and ideas went from experienced and well known modders to those who just recently joined or found their passion in modding, doing an absolutely great job. We’d like to thank all participants for giving this challenge a go and submitting their mods in the official update fitting off-road theme. Let’s take a quick look at all submitted mods. 2014 NG Super4 (by LucasBE) https://www.beamng.com/resources/2014-ng-super4.25220/ An unique, neat and cute little toy car to have fun with in your free time. The model is pretty good, textures are also well done. Overall just a great mod. Tracked FPU Wydra (by AgentY) https://www.beamng.com/resources/tracked-fpu-wydra.25212/ The vehicle itself is perfectly made for having tracks in our eyes and the jbeam solution for it looks creative. The configs are great and the steering is very well done. Sandstorm Performance Rally Warrior (by Bentonchiez) https://www.beamng.com/resources/sp-rally-warrior-50k-update.25127/ A lovely idea to give the 200BX a new off-road look! SP Winch (by AwesomeCarl) https://www.beamng.com/resources/sp-winch.25284/ A creative interpretation of the entire off-road theme. The model looks decent, tooltips are useful and the overall solution to make the rope extend and hook up things is well executed. Ibishu Wigeon Crawler (by Kajzer) https://www.beamng.com/resources/ibishu-wigeon-crawler.25322/ Alongside a really nice execution of models and textures it’s got clean jbeam files, a clean console, suspension doesn’t have any obvious binding issues and makes nice use of generic lights and racing parts. Cherrier Tograc Off-Road pack (by Typo) https://www.beamng.com/resources/cherrier-tograc-off-road-pack.25335/ Once more an awesome off-road pack to a car that definitely needed one! Off-Road Old Cannon (D-Series-based) (by Lord Charles) https://www.beamng.com/resources/off-road-old-cannon-d-series-based.25336/ What else should you say to a cannon on a D-series but boom? Fun idea for sure! LeOffroader (by LJ) https://www.beamng.com/resources/leoffroader.25338/ Definitely something we haven’t seen before. The custom suspension frame model looks pretty good and fitting for this build. Overall well formatted. Dirt Cube (by AX53) https://www.beamng.com/resources/dirt-cube.25339/ “I mean, certainly something we didn’t expect.” ~a reviewer RK’s Offroad Trailer (by Ranking) https://www.beamng.com/resources/rks-offroad-trailer.25317/ A very unique and interesting idea for sure! Having an off-road trailer alongside your off-road vehicle can be great fun and useful at times. The pictures and GIFs to show off features are very well made. HelTom Fab SS3 DualSport Offroad buggy (by tom23 and BRD.Isaac) https://www.beamng.com/resources/heltom-fab-ss3-dualsport-offroad-buggy.25321/ With tons of amazing details on the inside and outside it does not only look great, but also drives very well. We’ve had quite some fun with it. ETK-K Offroad Pack (by MorzBNG) https://www.beamng.com/resources/etk-k-offroad-pack.25329/ Great fun driving it, nice looking suspension and skidplate. Who knew a luxury street car would get an off-road config 200BX Offroad (by ender) https://www.beamng.com/resources/200bx-offroad.25340/ Another great 200BX off-road pack. Interesting use of vanilla parts and nicely put together. In order to not make this announcement even longer, we’ve kept the feedback very simple.
