    I absolutely hate how I need to spend ten minutes repairing my car because a hubcap or two fell off. My insurance rate goes up, as well.

    For small things like this, the best thing is to use is private repair. It tends to be very quick for small repairs.

    Which is a really good addition, it allows you to repair vehicles without affecting your insurance. It is however less suited for major damage as without insurance, costs tend to rise quite significantly. Which is pretty realistic.

    it's a nice idea, but what do you do with those cars or what's left of them? Do you repair the parts and add them to your inventory/ sell the parts? Or are you suggesting to implement some kind of car mechanics simulator to rebuilt those cars and sell with profit?

    I mean, you can do both, knowing the devs, if they add such thing, you'll probably have both the options to do whatever you want to do.

    These would be great, but the damaged parts aspect cannot be done with the current technology. Other than that this is a great expansion to the barn find idea!

    i keep crashing my darn i series! Traffic is messing things up! i was filming a career mode video until i got a bit carried away and played for 4 hours. that's ADHD damn it

    how about the option to not repair if it's something that isn't important, like a dented fender or a missing hubcap?

    Back to the technology... damaged parts cannot be saved, possibly missing hubcaps tho.

    Yes, have you read the dev's replies? If you mean repairing your car to use it after you exited then reentered the game... i think that's just the game saving the cost of the repairs and that it needs to be repaired, not the actual damage.

    The technology to consistently save the Jbeam and model in its damaged state is either nonexistent or in its infancy. I am not talking about those "Damaged" parts mods, those are just edited models and Jbeams to permanently replicate damage.

    Mods that include damaged parts use either tuned parts that damage themselves on spawn, or a custom pre-damaged model and JBEAM. Their state is not dynamically saved anywhere.
    One mod that comes to mind is Car_Killer's now deleted "ETK 800 Lifted" which used the latter method to save damage.

    Another example of the latter is The Only Raccoon's "The Damaged Parts Project" mod to create damage.

    You can make parts look damaged but they are not really damaged.

    How about the ability to put the unpainted parts on with the freeroam parts menu, that would make it a lot easier to create beater configs.
