Nah, we're not going to be redirecting any of our resources to it - there's many way more pressing issues with the UI than adding support for video backgrounds.
Will you get to it eventually? I, for one, really liked it and never had problems. Speaking of menu screens, the current ones are from 0.24. Will you update those sometime?
It's a shame to remember how the interface was more responsive, especially in the vehicle selector before this current remake in 2021. Obviously it's much more beautiful, complete, modern, etc., but in terms of perfomance/responsiveness that ended up getting lost. I hope the next chapter of this interface brings back that taste
Locale RU: Overtorque gives this message, that says "overrev". After a lot of updates it is still the same.
Remove the top bar from add apps menu. there's already an x button, what's the point of the back button?
Any possibility of adding scrub radius to the advanced wheels debug UI app and the show live wheel data function in the tuning menu? Would be useful to find the optimal wheel offset.
In case someone wants to try this out: No, it does not work anymore. the interface is extremely broken and nearly unusable(i'm talking about the mod). it's a shame that it's broken since this is the only alternative to the developer's user interface. despite 9 versions releasing since 0.24, no one has made a mod like this.
--- Post updated --- When I would use the new UI in 0.32 and search in the sections it would have to click on the search bar every single time I want to add a letter and that got really annoying so please fix that
Please remove the wasted space at the bottom of the powertrain app it's been bugging me for way too long
Both torquecurve apps incorrectly display the rearMotor RPM on the frontMotor graph on dual motor ev configs
It's nice that there's a key bind for flashing the headlights, but it doesn't quite work as intended (I understand this is how the high beams in Beam.NG have always worked). The parking lights and instruments shouldn't also light up when, say, the indicator stalk is pulled towards the driver.
Ok I've got one I've been meaning to write down somewhere... The map/cargo screen in career mode really doesn't work properly on an ultrawide screen (5120x1440). Basically the "card" for the selected cargo squishes the map down to nothing during cargo loading, and covers most of the map in map mode!. Same with the cargo slot management, the list ends up showing only three of slots so it takes a ton of scrolling and you can't tell what's going on! It's a very poor use of screen real-estate! EDIT: just realized I had the "limit UI to 1920x1080" set. If I turn that off it mostly solves the issues discussed here, although there are some downsides (like a lot of UI elements that look too way too small for example...), but it will mostly help with career mode so that's something...
Just did a clean install of BeamNG (steam uninstall, delete user folder, delete steam folder, reinstall) and noticed this issue. See how the edges of UI elements are, and they are moving as well. This only happens when using Vulkan and only when UI resolution is set to 1440p. Tried Safe Mode + Vulkan - everything normal, no issue. Also no issue when using DirectX. The fact that this is happening on fresh install (and with no mods) I assume it might be something with Vulkan itself (but I'm no expert). I have latest version of Windows11 (Build 26100.3194), as well as latest Nvidia drivers (v572.16 clean install). Didn't have this problem before BeamNG reinstall, but then I had different issue. Is this only me or this can be fixed somehow? Hope this is the right place for this.
Noticed a mistake with the 1v1 Timeslip, on Drag Racing mode (both Sportsman Tree and Pro Tree, both Random Opponent and Select An Opponent). The information about times and speeds on both lanes is ok but the mistake is in the final piece of info, which is the time difference between the two opponents. When I win a drag race, the Slip shows the time difference on my side (the extra time it took the opponent to finish, in other words), while the loser side gets the "WINNER" info. And vice versa, when I lose a drag race, the Slip shows the "WINNER" info on my side, while it should be showing the extra time it took me to finish. Also, where has the actual vehicle returning to the drag strip phase gone? When selecting the re-race, we now just spawn again just before the starting point. And now for something completely irrelevant to the drag mode mistake I just mentioned: sometimes, I happen to seemingly finish first but I lose the drag race and it shows me that I actually was slower down the 1/4. It must be because of my lower exit speed. I don't think this is a mistake of the drag mode, just mentioning it because I want to see if it applies IRL.
Fixed this by deleting and reinstalling everything Nvidia related. Used app (GeekUninstaller free) to remove also all related registry entries and other folders. Then downloaded and installed latest Nvidia driver.
*Personnal Opinions included & bad english skills warning* V0.35 is just released, and everything looks great to me except one thing: New Parts Menu I prefer old parts menu, which was still available before this update, because it looks simple to use and friendly to see. picture from internet btw (Look at this, isn't it comfortable?) Also, old interface has a simple and small words, comes with simple sub-parts(license plates, etc) which I prefer as newer ones confuses me when the sub-parts are too tightly placed together. But, you know, as there must be some people who wants to use newer interfaces. So, how about making both of them available and people can choose what they want? I hope Devs to see this, and thanks for a 0.35 update devs! p.s: Any chance of having a sedan preview, not a wagon one of the updated Sunburst?
The new menus are interesting but do put in a toggle option for the legacy menus. (Some old schoolers like it easy because in truth the old menus were fine as they were )
