Exactly my point. It may not be perfect, but it's completely sufficient for what's been lacking on here for a while. These same ingrates attacking him right now usually love talking about entitlement. --- Post updated --- Technically it's not malaise era since it was designed and came out the year before the oil crisis.
Malaise era started before the oil crisis. 5mph bumpers insurance premiums on fast cars and tighter regulations all came before the oil crisis so cars were already slow and smogged out
Technically it's not malaise era since it was designed and came out the year before the oil crisis. Peak malaise was from 1975 to 1983. The regulations weren't aggressively mandated to meet emissions standards until that time. Malaise didn't technically start until the max horsepower for most full size car models dropped below 200 horsepower. The 455 v8 on this 1973 delta 88 still output nearly 280 horsepower. This didn't change that much until the 1975-76 delta 88 had the 455 v8 drop all the way down to 190 horsepower. https://www.hagerty.com/valuation-tools/oldsmobile/delta_88/1975/1975-oldsmobile-delta_88-royale
I've noticed another error, and that is that the factory stock configs should be called the Hardtop Sedan; the name Town Sedan was only used for pillared sedan models regardless of trim level.
