If you haven't seen the latest microblog post yet, we have recently made public the webpage that we will be using to create translations for BeamNG.Drive.

For the basic instructions, see: http://wiki.beamng.com/Translation

This thread serves as feedback thread :)

    What's not allowed:
    • Use of Google/Bing/etc Online Translators. If you do not know a language, do not translate it!
    • Grief, Troll, and alike. May result in a ban.

I may have used Google Translate for the German translations because I don't know German... Whoops.

Why would you translate if there are plenty of native German speakers here on the forums?

Is there anything to translate apart from the menus? I mean: Parts, Credits... Those kind of things
Another question: Do you have to create another account in that website to translate, Or the one you have is also valid?
    Cheers ;)

    no.

like @MrAngry said , why the hell would you translate it with a translator when you dont even understand the result? The whole game could be translated with google translate in all languages. but the result would be totally horrible. that's why devs started this page - to let native speakers make qualitative translations.

also , do you even read?

I do know a small amount of Croatian....

By small amount, I mean one word... Which is probably useless for BeamNG.....
So far it seems to have good progress, 88~ % on all registered languages

    Great effort guys! :)

Please only translate languages you feel 110% safe in, i.e. you grew up with. It does not help if we have broken translation for other languages.

Some words are difficult to translate, like display.
    In Afrikaans it can be:
    Wys-as in show(display) or
    Skerm-as in screen(display)
    depending on context.

I agree with you; some words are a bit difficult to translate depending on the context
-Question: Should we use articles, for example el, la, en... (the, in...) even if there aren't in english? Because some words haven't the correct grammar if you don't write them.
    Cheers ;)

I only saw the context bit in each translation window now, that helps a bit.

You guys really have to choose some reliable guys to be over annonymous guys if possible, annonymous could only submit suggestions, while this guys above could approve or translate by themselves. That would prevent from trolls or guys that really wanna help, but they aren't cappable and are doing a lot of mistakes, which would look very unprofessional in game. I've went through whole Polish when it was marked 100% translated (I translated a little before, but I was in job so I didn't had time for it at all, but it was only 169 strings not a big deal), and I found a lot of basic grammar mistakes, google translator work, approved English phrazes without any translation or phrazes that doesn't makes sense at all. Also somebody with you can spoke to, because some things are not clear and could mean lots of other things and not always there's proper translation to it in another language. At least some explaination in comment or something what exactly are we translating. Like how the hell translate "Far Blur Curve" in to Polsih? I've found something that sounds ok, but it needs correction, so would be cool if there would be someone on skype or something to talk with i.ex. for this guys with higher permissions. 3 guys to 1 language is enough, I know it form experience, I've been translating for Gaijin Entertainment and there are tons of text to translate, every single vechicle have minimum 1/2 of A4 sheet of text, to every configuration and tons of another things too. Usually 2 guys translated up to 500 strings like there are here in BeamNG now in single day, when big update have been released.

Edit: Hah you've added some new strings (21?) and I've facepalmed a lot, it's easier to do it with 2-3 responsible guys than 1000 annonymous guys, they'll translate and it will look fine it's 100% translated in one hour, but this translations are incredible bad, google translate can do better, and guys that treat it seriously then have way more work, because they have to go through all strings to check if it's ok or not. You really have to do it this way, otherwise it will be mess. And I'd love to join translation team :)
