    Hello, all.

So, this is basically Burnout's crash mode in BeamNG. Not much more to say than that.

    screenshot_00618.png

But, since I'm wordy, a few notes:
    • The descriptions do matter. Well, some do, most don't. Just be aware that not every scenario is a straightforward crash challenge.
    • The map itself is not exactly meant as a standalone experience. Not all of the roads connect, dead ends exist around every turn, and the AI paths are purpose-built for traffic, not for chase, flee, or random AI.
    • Performance, and by extension mileage, will vary. I tuned the scenarios to work best for my so-so average computer, so don't be surprised if you get lag or can handle more cars than the scenarios try.
    • The difficulty assigned to the scenarios is arbitrary; simply meant so that all of the scenarios are grouped together in the scenario list.

I've attempted to get around BeamNG's extreme performance demands by making the crash challenges into puzzles with a few vehicles, rather than Burnout's playgrounds with many. That, and slow motion, which helps to reduce lag quite a lot.

So, enjoy! I do tentatively plan on updating further, but we'll see.

Provided below is a tiny cheat-sheet. I can't promise it'll lead to the best possible scores, but it's just how I do the scenarios.
Floor it right away, aiming for the Pessima. Hopping the inside curb a bit will put you in a better postition to push the Pessima's rear to the outside of the turn, which should send its aft end toward oncoming traffic. From there, the Pessima gets crushed between you and the Covet, and the Covet and Pessima crushed between you and the H-Series Flatbed.
Flooring it all the way to the ramp will put you ahead of both targets, so I usually slow down after a second or two and hit the gas when they come into view. Really, almost any hit landed on the H-Series will impact the Roamer in some way. Not much strategy there.

One cool but rare trick occurs when you just clip the rear of the H-Series. Once in a blue moon, your car will get stuck in the cargo box, but the rest of the car keeps moving. This effectively whips your car around and into the Roamer like the business end of a nunchuck. Not effective and requires more than a little luck, but it's about the coolest thing you can do.
Just go full throttle; the Bolide is uncannily stable here. Hop the curb on the right and by then, the target should be in view. Try to hit it toward the center/front, as that's the car's center of mass (too far back, and it may just spin the car out in front of the pickup). This should knock it, and you, out of the way of traffic.
Hit the gas, never mind the slow motion. Let off of the throttle a bit to let the Sunburst catch up. Since the pickup is the heaviest hitter in the scenario, the general strategy is to put as much metal in front of it as possible. Pushing the blue Pessima too early will put it out of the way of the truck, so aim to have the Pessima's front bumper, and the Sunburst's front bumper, meet. At this stage, the taxi is just there to finish the work.
Drive off of the overhang above Coolidge, about evenly between the oncoming 800 series and the center lane. Your car's path should overlap the 800's just enough to wreck both of you, and send you into the way of the Moonhawk.

You also may have some success bouncing off of the wall on the right, pushing the 800 series into the Moonhawk's path. But for the effectiveness of such a tactic, it'd be a hard trick to pull off.
This one's basic. Just peel out, and make a slight left around the final tree. You're attempting to hit the front of the van while in midair. This should stop it, and you, in the middle of the intersection, and in the way of cross-traffic.
Putting it frankly; this is the hardest of the scenarios thus far. Accelerate immediately to keep pace with the 200BX to your right. The general plan is to push (NOT pit maneuver) the 200BX into the first barrier on the right. The barrier's angle is designed to deflect the 200BX into the far lane, wrecking the Moonhawk, and hopefully deflecting back into the truck's path.

Lots of stuff can go wrong here; your car can get stuck on the 200BX, the 200BX can get pushed too far, resulting in the car getting stuck on the end of the barrier, the 200BX can deflect off of the barrier and into you, etcetera. The difficulty with this one is that its solution isn't really that easy, which means that you should really just try this one yourself. Hell, perhaps you'll come up with a better solution than mine.
Twin ramps attempts to give you a choice; go for the nearer ramp, or the later one. Objectively speaking, the nearer ramp is easier to use. You can more easily direct your vehicle off of it into the westbound van, and can more easily push that into the eastbound passenger cars.

However, when it works, the second ramp results in the better [more awesome-looking] wrecks. Usually the trick is to approach the ramp slightly ahead of the van and moving at roughly the same speed, then turn hard left and hit the parking brake right before hitting the ramp. If well timed and executed, your truck should land on top of the van's passenger cabin, and will likely roll into the oncoming lanes.
Really, you need a cheat sheet for this one?

The only trick is that if you're looking to make a big, satisfying wreck, let the Pessima pass you for the second time, and then hit the front of the T-Series. Your car should be pushed into the way of the Barstow, and for some reason I've not been able to ascertain, the Pessima will respawn at the top of the hill and compound the damage. Oh, and remember that pressing ESC or ALT+U will hide the UI, so you can see the damage.
Hit the gas right out the gate, and stay close to the left side of the road. Hit the Barstow (the only oncoming car of the scenario) on the right, so you'll swing into the way of all of the cars following.

The work truck is the only vehicle that is pretty close to impossible to properly destroy, but you won't need it. And as always, getting even one of the vehicles propped up against an immovable barrier is a great way to get the T-Series to smash it flat, rather than just push it.
Hit the gas hard, but let off for a few moments after launch. There's pretty much no chance you'll hit the Moonhawk on Pike, and you'd have to pretty much go flatout to hit the taxi on View. Just hit the Roamer broadside to knock it into a wall or support pillar, or hit it up front to push it across the lanes and possibly off of the edge of the block. Should you do the latter, you'll get a special message at the end.

Also worth pointing out that alongside the conditional ending, there's an easter egg hidden in this scenario.

    This is amazing.
Apart from the very first scenario, which apparently only requires you to drive a few yards in reverse (I got 'success', so I guess it's a bug?), I thoroughly enjoyed every single one.

I suppose the only thing is, that essentially, you're doing one and the same thing with basically no variation whatsoever. Yeah, bitching like mine tells you that the scenario is ****ing awesome and the only thing bothering me is replayability.

This really calls for a scenario with 8 crazy Pigeons! Send 'em flyin'!

Great work and keep it up.

I knew I should have put the waypoints miles underground...

Yeah, that was part of the rationale for the alternate challenges, to mix up the 'drive into the busy intersection' formula. Sadly, the assassination challenge is a little too easy, and the sabotage challenge is far harder than I had meant.

Tiny update! I've added two more scenarios and a little more road. I'll also be making a repo release soon.

    Edit: Aaand it's out!

I did post a review but I thought I would post here as well. I really, really enjoyed this. As a fan of the crash mode in Burnout (and the Burnout games in general) I got a big kick out of this. Thank you for making it, and I hope you add more to the mod, it's BRILLIANT.

I made a video, if I'm allowed to post this here:

Thanks, everyone for the kind words. And a special thanks to Neilogical for pointing out that one of the scenarios was titled wrong. I'll get that patched up.

Thank you, and that's a nice video. Sorry that Failure to Merge was being stubborn. It's the first scenario in the sequence, so it should be more forgiving. Personally, I just drive up... actually, I'm gonna go ahead and make a quick-and-dirty cheat sheet. Check the first post.

All we need are the infuriating burnout 3 tuktuks for beam, and then we have the full crash mode experience! Great work!

I have know idea how modding really works but if you can, make it into a campaign scenario pack like senseless destruction! It would be awesome. If you can do it (I'm not sure if you can) please do it! :D

Burnout 3 is one of my favourite games, especially the crash junctions. These scenarios are absolutely beautiful!
Somehow, I got this insane score. Have only gotten near it one other time.

Watched Draegast do this scenario, laughed a lot and then downloaded the map.

Then I did the Assassination scenario and this happened.

    And Rush Hour carnage too
