I'm not sure yet, but I have some ideas. The Satsuma is still far from ready. There are still offroad and race parts waiting after all the body styles are done.
I love this mod but I have one suggestion (more like an improvement tbh), would it be possible to move the "center" of the external camera forward so it revolves around the center of the car, rather than the rear end of it, that and raise it up just a small bit? The way the camera is placed right now makes driving in 3rd person view really uncomfortable and weird, having that fixed should make it much more drivable on the outside!
Do you mean the relative camera? The orbit and chase cameras are OK in my opinion. There is nothing about the relative camera in the jbeam and it rotates around the back in official cars too.
May i suggest something for you? Why not try a American "Compact" like the AMC Pacer, Gremlin or Spirit Its a thing we still need, and any of them would contrast the Covet really well. (And when you go for the spirit you'll have the bonus of a Slantback/Liftback that were still missing too. Or a (staying with your beloved japanese cars) Japanese minivan of the 90s. Maybe something crazy like the Subaru Sambar Dias II which was a 4x4, CVT Kei-Car spec Van with Panoramic Roof. Giving us a Minivan, Microvan if you will that we still lack. (Your 210 Van is there but Still.) Or a Suzuki Suzulight Kei-Van, Which fills the same Gap like the Sambar, only older and less CVT or 4x4. In the same manner a great car is the Suzulight followup the Carry. (If you make one go for the round headlights Generation) Or go for a proper Kei-Car. The Suzuki SC100 Whizzkid. Small, Slow but fun to drive and iconic AF.
These cars are nice, but I probably make something bigger. I was thinking of making an old 60's semi truck based on European and Russian cab-over trucks of the era, or an old 60's 4x4 like Toyota Land Cruiser FJ or Nissan Patrol 60. The bigger car is easier to make in theory, because the jbeam structure can have more nodes and thus better crash deformation. --- Post updated --- I got the opening doors done. What do you think? Is it a nice or totally pointless feature, as you can't load any stuff into the car?
+1 for the AMC Spirit. It was a very unique vehicle for the time, and it had many body variations. The Spirit was based on the AMC Concorde, the Concorde was also a wagon. And of course there were the Eagle variants and even a version with a AMC Gremlin rear end. Would keep you busy for a while Mike.
They are nice but kinda pointess as you said. also i dont know whether they might cause issues with clipping and or the physics Spazzing out The Spirit was my personal Fav too. gets my vote. love it. I woudnt be worried about that. the 210 is not much different in size than a carry suzulight or spirit. The whizzkid is a different thing. that one is really tiny. also you dont need to pack everything with features. they always are neat to see but opening hoods and doors are as i suppose rarely used in the current version of beam. and therefore a kind of wasted time and love on your side. Your models are the best anyways surpassing stock model standards by far and you could invest the time spent on those gimmicks better and maybe add such features after all bodystyles etc are done (just make these things low priority
The orbit camera. Instead of the camera circling around the center of the car like in every other car mod made, the one in this is pushed more towards the back which makes it feel really weird when turning and driving.
That thing looks interesting, but I don't think there are any decent blueprints or dimensional drawings available online. But I might be wrong. AMC Spirit looks great, but there is very little info about the car and I didn't find any decent blueprints after quick googling. The opening doors, hood and trunk took only couple of hours to make in total. I only had to replace the latch beams with hydros and add couple of damping beams. The crash deformation was not affected at all in the process. Only negative effect I noticed was slightly increased vibration of the front doors when driving on rough surfaces. Also those interior and license plate lights were easy and quick to make. The most time consuming parts of making the mod are really adjusting the suspension and crash deformation. I spend three hours yesterday just for tweaking the deformation of the bed. It has come a long way from that spiky mess it was before. I'll try to move the camera a bit forward. That should fix the rotation.
theres a decent 3d model for spintires already made. if i find it ill pm you a link. maybe you can use it. indeed theres not much known but there are documantations and many pictures of it portraying it from all angles. I found this one:
And for an update on the FC-150, after a quick check, it shared many driveline parts with the early CJ-5 additionally it had the exactly same frame --- Post updated --- Jeep CJ5 Frames Pro-Model: https://hum3d.com/3d-models/jeep-fc-150-forward-control-1957/
75 dollars! You could (if you were actually considering) make a patreon I'm sure a handful of people will donate. Or not. I would, if i wasn't poor and/or my parents don't want me donating money to this one modder.
There's another mod though. Its By Spunindarkness (SID) all credit goes to him. and if someone wants to be an asshole i have the modfile from the 375$ model. its 190mb though. (i didnt steal anything i just downloaded the mod. and copied the file to my desktop)
