Hi guys! I would like to suggest the creation of "simple" maps that would basically be normal maps, but without trees, grass and other textures that would create lag in slower computers/laptops. I would really appreciate it if someone took the time to create such maps as i am a laptop user myself and love the game, but cannot play in any map except the grids. Thanks!
Did you turn down the graphics settings and all that jazz? Because I play on a laptop too (XPS 15Z) and while it's not good for pretty maps or more than two cars, I can still drive.
Laptop user, too, although mine's brand new. Mine will work for most maps but cannot handle more that 3 or 4 cars.
I have a Toshiba Satellite from 2010 (I think), holy crap does it ever struggle! Currently the only map that runs at a decent frame rate is Trynelgren as is has no vegetation or objects. So I think this was a good idea.
I could probably remove the trees and grass from maps like East Coast, USA and then upload them for users like you.
i know its been a while, however i am in the same boat, mines a decent laptop but am very limited on the higher vegetation maps, and it makes it very difficult to experience the game in its full.. if you can link me the maps you simplified that would be great, thank you

Gigawert's suggestion is probably the more pleasant option. Scepheo has also published a somewhat more extreme mod which should affect ALL maps, even mods. http://www.beamng.com/resources/no-veggies.984/
I'm a laptop user, I got a $997 AUD laptop and it can run up to four cars on a nice map and that's only when it starts lagging a bit.
