Great idea, nice to have a new campaign! Just a couple of things (you may very well be aware of this stuff already): - the checkpoints are sometimes quite hard to see in the first chapters, maybe turn down the fog slightly. - Paula's Miramar definitely needs a little more than just a turbo upgrade, as it catched on fire by itself both before and after Dan worked on it. Either he is a professional scammer with a complete disregard for customer satisfaction or Paula is secretely the Ghost Rider. - It would be cool to implement a "failure by damage" system (ex: I delivered the Miramar with a fairly dented fender and I wasn't told off for it. And yes, it was still on fire). - Sadly, the game crashed while loading the 8th chapter of Part 1 :-( I'll try later with all mods disabled and get back to you if I find anything else that may need polishing, but I definitely applaud you for modding a new campaign. Keep up the good work!
Hi, thanks for taking the time to message. I agree, the first parts need tweeking. Paula's Miramar has a custom engine that I built. It is from one of my other mods. Sadly it is not finished it just about works, kind of. There is a collision issue somewhere that causes the fire but that is all beyond my current abillities. I really want to keep things vanilla going forward. I will work at the weekend on more changes. The original inspiration for the project came from thinking about force saving damage states at the end of a part and then force load them at the begining of the next part. So at the moment the rules of all the parts are very loose and are awaiting more insight and other potential features. Thanks again for trying this out.
Good idea, but maybe put it to Beta, for Early Access, because when it's close to being finished, or there's minor work to be done, then you put it to Alpha. (sorry for the long sentence) --- Post updated --- I mean, on the mod page, not this page
This is a great idea! I hope it comes to fruition, it would be a neat way to really put to use the soft body physics of the game. I'll keep an eye on this, for sure!
Saving states of damage from scene to scene would be killer. It would be a taste of what the free roam career mode would be like I suppose
I was sure that the alpha stage was roughly, adding features and assets, beta was tuning gameplay and then release when it's right. Oh yea please ask your Dad not to make a video of my project yet unless it's of just 1 or 2 parts. Maybe your and his favorite? I wanted to make sure people liked it before going further. Also now that I am I will wait till Italy comes out, then I will do the next 2 chapters. I will try implementing the save state feature this weekend. Thanks to all for your responses.
I got finished testing, but found 2 bugs that make it not completeble. The RC race cars don't have fuel or something, so they don't start, I got mine to start manually, but it died half a lap in. The second chapter, I got stuck on the document pick up mission (the one after the SUV race around the rock), half way through, one of the waypoints was grayed out like one was missing. As a whole, I liked it a lot. The Utah section has lots of fun driving, but i didn't feel any time presure. The trailer mission was interesting, and i finished even after losing one of the boxes, lol. It will be really cool once there's saveable damage and (a big if) there were credits for repairs and paying for upgrades for real tuning. Then I'd have to decide whether to fix my horrable alignment, or get a turbo, decisions...

Please make the first race a bit shorter. It got a little buggy after the first Lap. Maybe only 3 laps.
This is fixed for the next release. 3 laps and more markers so you can see the track better. --- Post updated --- It should be there.
