POST UPDATED 3/20/18! TO FIX CAMERA OFFSET ISSUE, COPY THE ATTACHED REPLACEMENT .JBEAM FILE INTO THE MOD. PENDING HOTFIX 0.76.1 WILL INCLUDE THE FIX OFFICIALLY. FROM MODS PAGE; At the bottom of my post, I've attached the skins UV layout. If you wish to make a skins pack for this, please follow the rules for making them as if you were making the skins for official content. Soon The Gavril Vendetta is pretty much BeamNG's best equivalent to a C3 Corvette so far (There have been one or 2 low quality mods I've seen, but nothing that truly tries to emulate the experience of a C3.) The front suspension is a highly modified version of the Barstow's suspension geometry (Same concept, heavy scaling and reworking to fit the smaller size of this car's suspension.) The rear, features the Corvettes signature Transverse Leafspring (semi) independent rear suspension. The astute among you will notice that the rear spring of the car is a bit flat; This is being worked on and will be fixed before it's submitted to the mods page. The car, while sharing the styling of the C3, has some notable differences; The rear, as you can see above, doesn't have exhaust pipe extensions at the bottom; I opted to go with traditional pipes underneath. Obviously this poses a safety hazzard the way it's placed, but theoretically, the suspension shouldn't be able to move more than an inch when up in the air, so it works out just fine, especially with where they fall underneath the leafspring. The interior, is rearranged; Since I pulled the gauges from the Barstow, I eliminated a gauge since I didn't have it in the UVs. The front, features 2 distinct grilles and headlights; This is Traditional, raw C3. This, is the Facelift. This is a more racing inspired look, and is featured on the racing configurations. Note the lack of a true front bumper; You started to see these go away up until they were brought back in force via regulations. As for custom specialized parts; You get 2 hoods; You get a (JBeamed and functional) chinspoiler; Fender flares, side pipes, along with a simple racing livery; A (functional) roll-cage; And you get your choice of either the 423 or 532 for racing engines. Also you get a full loadout of optional suspension components (Standard type, Offroad type, Aftermarket coilover swap (rear,) and Racing. Each major type uses a different suspension JBeam to make each one a tad bit more specialized than official vehicles. There may be other parts, though if there are, I'll leave that for you to re-discover. There are missing names and/or spelling mistakes; I will fix this before release. Your factory configs will come like this; NOTE; All engines are V8s, pulled from the Barstow. Base; Your choice of a 291 or 353, both with either a 3 speed auto or 4 speed manual. All feature basic components, rides on standard tires on 15x7'' steel wheels, and spans the entire production run. Luxe; Your choice of a 291, 353, or 423, both with either a 3 speed auto or 4 speed manual. Features standard suspension components, a luggage rack, a vinyl landau top, thin whitewalls on 15x7'' steel wheels, and spans only the pre-facelift models. RoadSport Performance package; Your choice of a 291, 353, or 423, with mandatory 4 speed manual. Features all the same stuff as the Luxe model, aside from heavy duty suspension components and an LSD standard. Spans the entire production run, replacing the Luxe models in the facelift years. Corporate Office Special; Technically not a factory config, but this is essentially the factory-racer in street clothing. 423, heavy duty suspension, and an LSD are standard equipment. This is a rare config, with only 200 ordered via a loophole a special Gavril Dealership exploited to get factory-race spec'd cars from a company that otherwise didn't do this until the Barstow's later years. Runs only the first year of production. Swap the tires for Civetta racing wheels and slicks, and add a roll cage, and you have a track ready car. You will get 3 more configs; A barnfind, an offroad setup, and a race setup. Not a ton of configs, but otherwise this is a very focused model lineup. Others have been pushing me to do more or add the 423 to more configs, but I'm standing my ground on this decision. PROGRESS: JBeam; 98% Model; 100% for main model, 75% for racing accessories. Textures; 100% for main model, 75% for racing accessories. Other fun stuff; Idk% I may have missed stuff from the old post, but this covers most of what you need to know about the mod. If you have any questions, post them below. Follow the forum rules, Don't spam, Stay on topic, or else your posts may mysteriously vanish by the power of Nadeox1's animated profile picture. Several posts have already disappeared, don't let yours be one of them! TLDR.? It isn't ready for release yet Wait a bit, it still needs a lot of work there bud
Wow just wow! I'm super pumped for this! You did amazing work on the truck and this is turning out to be even more epic.
Mmm...because its a Stingray of sorts, and its a run on the C3... maybe Gavril Shark S7? May not have much of a ring to it, but it feels like a real close run onto the name Corvette Stingray C3.
I was trying to avoid using references to the Mako shark concept car, but you have a valid option there. Hmm, Didn't think of it that way, but Chevrolet never really had a badge engineered version of the Corvette. Will add to the poll. Again trying to avoid direct references to the Mako Shark due to potentially being not allowed up on the mods page to copyright. Ik it sounds crazy, but it is a risk I just don't really want to take, though I did think that one through before you suggested it. It has a ring to it, and sounds like a good viable option. I have some time before I have to make the emblems, so I will see what comes out of this think tank. Tonight I am going to do some modeling work on the engine bay stuff, and in turn JBeaming. I really need a radiator in this thing, as for the test engine I am using (Invisible in screenshots,) overheats way to quick to do any extensive driving testing.
Looks great. Something along the lines of GT/Sport would be a nice name IMO. Maybe just "Gavril Sport" or name it after a city/town like the Barstow is.
@Driv3r1142 If you want to keep the idea of a name that's similar to Stingray, I'd suggest looking through the names of other Batoideas. It's probably what I'd do.
That's somewhat the idea I was going along, another sea-creature... Huh...I forgot that concept existed, but like I said, something water-based would be cool, though Vendetta is a little cool, though at the same time, it sounds a little classy for the corvette, like a Rolls Royce in a way.
Gavril Jet, here are some trim models, Gavril Jet Base (291) Gavril Jet Base R/S (Four barrel Carb 291) Gavril Jet + (353) Gavril Jet + R/S (Four barrel Carb 353) Gavril Jet Besten (423) (That was German for Best...) Gavril Jet Besten + (Four barrel Carb 423) One last one, I made this one up, Gavril Jet Green Machine ( Four barrel Carb 423, no front/rear bumpers, and cowl induction hood..I'll show you what I mean) --- Post updated --- 1970 Gavril Barstow Green Machine, and its faster than your Civic, Jokes aside, I made it up, you can use it for your car, I honeslty don't mind if you do.
I will consider it. I am not at the stage for configs yet though, so that will be awhile before I have to think about it.
Of-course not! We're gonna be driving an Ivan Lochov special model, powered by a 2013 Lada parts box Liek dis; jk Yes I will add the front. I am working middle to rear right now, then I will get the main stuff that mounts to the front of the frame aside from the suspension, then I will mount the front clip. I will have that on there by the end of the week hopefully... Here's how it looks in blender; I need to redo the area with the 2 holes, It should be very different than it is. But I can do that, and I will do that before I put it in game
