I'll definitely going to be trying to make it into a truck (something simmilar to this or this: ) Also, turning the bus into a bus trailer would be a cool thing
Micro Blog(s) - March to December 2016 Chassis dynamometer. Came up a couple of times in that thread and mentioned in others. As I said, it hasn't been worked on in awhile due to major bugs. For anyone interested: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chassis_dynamometer
It's not impossible, but seems unlikely. I haven't been able to turn up any info on the rear suspension systems of buses of the period other than certain models used inverted portal axles front and rear to keep the floor low. A live rear axle is not impossible, but given the smooth terrain of city streets and the low clearances of the rear fenders, I'm not sure how a live axle would benefit the bus. My first thought was that the Legran was getting a wagon body. On further reflection though, the menus don't match up, and why would they use "standard" instead of "sedan"? Unless someone can find a match for the menu (There's the possibility that we're looking at a new body for the Burnside, but that would mean that "independent front suspension" had been shortened to "front suspension"), then I think the wagon possibility might have to be shelved for now. The filename for that picture is "sauce-jpg.386176". Does anybody note any significance of that?
Well my theory is that that menu is for the Bluebuck (even though it' still on hold I think) mainly because a lot of the older cars used live rear axles, especially the ones similar to the Bluebuck. None of the other car menus I've compared to it match, but who knows, maybe the bus will have a live rear axle for some reason.
https://www.mercedes-benz.com/en/mercedes-benz/vehicles/aggregates/powertrain-bus-rear-axle-systems/ If you google it there are 10000s so... I thought this was common knowledge with anyone who has any interest in vehicles.
now heres the real question, if gabster is unable to model for quite some time, (which i assume will be the case) who would take over vehicle design and development?
the systems you pointed out are for coach buses that have a high interior floor so they have space for live rear axles, but city buses have low floors that have less space for the rear axle hence the confusion
Sorry to ask again and maybe it's been answered but is the bus photo posted in community screenshots?
There's a team of ten vehicle artists, but I assume that they work together on most projects (one models parts and puts them in-game, one creates and inputs the engine/transmission data, one makes the UV maps...etc.) According to Nadeox, the bus is largely the work of @CarlosAir , who seems to have a habit of just quietly working in the background until something absolutely amazing is produced. It's unknown exactly what the other devs are up to right now - but the assumption has been made that they're already working on something that isn't quite ready to show yet. --- Post updated --- No, the bus photo was posted to the devblog.
Well even they usually use solid axles. Something like an Orion V (similar to what this looks to be based on) has a solid axle as do most american city buses.
There's now two things I wonder about the bus, with the first one being how many wheels does it have. Is it going to have the basic set of four wheels, or will it be a 6x6? Second would be about the chances of it having an articulated trailer. I'm hoping that it will have the options of a regular body and an articulated trailer. The images we've seen so far only shows some of the interior and a portion of the front, so we have yet to see a view that shows the entirety of the bus.
Much yes. And like I said, I'm already expecting people to do RV conversions, so something like that wouldn't be too outlandish.
