It'd be more probable to get a surprise before this happens...

I wonder if the Bluebuck will come out before the bus. Seeing as the Bluebuck was supposedly car to be released but we already have shots of the bus being ingame while the Bluebuck has just one pic of a very early model.

It's hard to say, and it really depends on the current state of @gabester 's fingers/hands/arms. We haven't been updated on his medical condition since the beginning of last September, and we have no idea if he's returned to work since then.

I'm surprised to find myself actually leaning towards the bus being released first. I know that it was said that the Bluebuck would be the next car in-game, but now I'm starting to wonder if a bad case of tendonosis upended those plans, or if it was intended to mean that the Bluebuck would be the next out of the announced cars.

But wouldn’t gabe be the one who would model the bus? If it was him then it would mean that either
A: Gabe has gotten better and we just didn’t get notified
Or he IS still out of commission and
B: The bus was made a long time ago but we just never heard about it
    Or maybe even
C: The team got someone else to model a bus for them
If either A or C is correct, we could still see the Bluebuck get stuff before the bus. But if B is correct, then we might not be getting anything for the time being.

When Gabester last talked about his injury, he had to jump in and calm the community down by pointing out that he isn't the only vehicle artist. The full list of vehicle designers on staff is:

    Vehicle Designers
    Gabe Fink (gabester)
    Mitchell Sahl
    Corey Bergerud
    Sam Millington (DrowsySam)
    Ananda Neelam Thathayya (Nadeox1)
    Jali Hautala (Jalkku)
    Jukka Muikkula (Miura)
    Janne Nummela
    Winston Broderick
    Aaron Sutcliffe

I don't know if anybody else would take on a project started by someone else though - it's difficult to finish art that someone else started.

    Or B and D.

D being that after recovery he devoloped the bluebuck and sadly thought the grand marshall would survive in a highway speed crash test versus the bluebuck and has since, deceased. Tragedy...

There was a pic in the mini dev blogs that had a city bus in it.

What i really want is a 50's/60's Cadillac- Type car (probably produced under the bruckell brand) with godzilla- sized fins. 7774976724_83a37cf24e_b.jpg 60ELDO-05.jpg

As long as we're getting back on topic, there's an interesting phenomenon surrounding full-size American cars of roughly the same era...

Because the period of 1960-1965 saw so many small cars introduced that required all-new frames and technical innovation, the money and personnel for development largely wasn't there for the full-size cars. For example, the 1964 Impala rode on the same frame as the 1958 Impala. The available engines were almost identical save for several new displacements that were introduced as time went on.

So, what are the odds that the Bluebuck might be like the D-series - where it's based on the mechanical underpinnings of an unseen predecessor?

If we are lucky it'll not be designed based on the impala as the chevy frames were rather garbage when it comes to strength. We'd be far luckier to see something more resembling a Chrysler Imperial which saw at least 4 frame design changes throughout the 50s and 60s. All of which were extremely strong for their time. A 60s Ford or Mercury Montclair would also be a stellar base, so hopefully the frame design is strong. And hopefully we get large displacement motors that are in the same family a the Barstow engines. Like a 370 c.i. and a 400+c.i.

Back to your question, who knows? The bluebuck could very well have a long running model of 5 years but will it be a '58 to '63 model or a '61 to '66 model? Chances are it'll be a 62 to 64 model as most of gabes cars were produced for just a few years.

I kind of want it to be based on a Chevy. Maybe not the frame, but I would like to see some cosmetics and maybe some engines from it.

We know it'll be a strong car but not at Imperial levels. I'm sure this was answered already and I probably knew the answer one upon a time, but do we know if the Bluebuck will be a proper X frame or just a strong normal frame?

Part of me actually hopes that the Bluebuck does have a short production run just so we have something from Gavril that wasn't a big success. Barstow engines would be nice. As always I am hoping for some racing variants, but the team doesn't really seem that interested in vintage racing variants.

Edit: I can delete this post again...

If this were the case, I could see the Bluebuck using a Burnside frame, because even on the wiki, it says that Burnside like Cadillac to Gavril's Chevy. I could see it utilizing the fullsize frame from it, but adding some of the Barstow's engine options.

This would most likely utilize the Barstow engines and have its own frame.

The Bluebuck will be a past sales success, as it is based on the bestselling volume market fullsizers of the mid-60s, especially the Chevrolet Impala.
