No you're awake (besides the part where you did math wrong)
    110 * 1024 = 112,640 Gigabytes

I do believe in past months the total is around 90 TB

Not only that but in 1 month. Absolutely unreal. Something will have to give. I hope we don't go down the road of data rate plans
    like the cable companies do.

People usually measure 1,000 GB per TB, but since bits are stored as powers of two, then stored in bytes, a more accurate representation is 1,024 GB per TB :)

Duly noted and thanks. I like the shock factor of "112,640GB". Nice perspective:p.

It is interesting how USA and EU are so closely even, if we include Russia to European data transfer, then it is bit less in USA.

It's quite easy to see each customer transferring more than 1GB in a month and with 600 000 sold copies if 1/6 is active during the month that data transfer is not that much.

    Wouldn't Torrents solve the problem?
So that some active players (who agreed to take part supporting the devs) can use their upload speed to lower the strain on the main connection while they are playing, there are no multiplayer aspects yet in the game so it shouldn't really hurt the ones who want to support it

That would be a good solution imo. There is an issue with some ISPs though (at least here in the UK) that kill off torrent speeds under some assumption that they are all bad. However I suppose it would be fine for the majority and still lower bandwidth.

Imagine the bill for that if someone was to download 110TB....the cost would be.....astronomical!

They tried to do that for game updates before moving to Steam.

    Didn't work out well.

I think we need to do the maths per country, see how much it would be per major supplier

I'd say Moreso 40% Europe, 30% North America, 20% Asia and 10% maybe Africa? Idk, we would need some sort of data for this, interesting....

This is just me calculating my conversations with other people, me estimating what time it is where they are, usually guessing 4-8 PM then trying to put that into a region demographic creating a vague area

I've found many people are 3-4 hours behind me, while some are as much as 11 hours ahead, making a question on mod making hard for me to answer, who ever that was who messaged me about that at around 5 in the morning....

To be fair, the regions where it comes from is the issue, the fact that there is 110TB of mods and crap here is immense, and must suck for bills, let's hope it comes to greater moderator review of mods, and maybe remove or move the link to dead or abandonned mods somewhere else as to not clog the forum, hey, they might even get rid of gifs for profiles and such

Also I love this 'open dev talk' style, like the old 2014 micro logs used to do,really brings back that feeling of connection

I really hope this doesn't become a trend for the main microblogs, since I don't want to wade through pages of random user comments just to see if a dev has posted something.

Well it is big amount, but far from crazy imho. 110 TB is 112,640 GB in 25 days. That is on average 4,505 GB per day or 187.7 GB per hour and 3.13 GB per minute, which is 52 MB per second. Basically ONE person can download that amount in 25 days on 400 Mbit line. Now it does not sound that crazy, right?
    --- Post updated ---
Also I have 150 MBit upload on my home internet line, in theory I could host over one third of that amount.

Btw just an idea ... what about integrate libtorrent library into mod manager and let volunteers to share those mods which they have already installed to others? I would turn this option on with no problem.
