I think one of the best April Fool's day jokes that the devs could pull would be teasing a vintage single-seat, open-wheel ETK or Civetta... Spoiler: ...And then Release Something Like This: It may not be quite as crazy as it seems on first brush - Italy is planned to have a significant chunk of apparently drivable farmland, so we may as well put it to good use: And for those of us who are more crash-minded, a tractor, even of this relatively small size, represents a significant threat to any vehicle behind it: Of course, the team would have to follow it up fairly quickly with another single-seat open wheeler to quiet down users who had gotten their hopes up. Not a bad thing though - an early F1 car would add some interesting variety to the game. Oh well, maybe next year.
Thanks for adding two things to the list of content I want and probably will never get in BeamNG.Drive. Adding to my crushed hopes and dreams. It is kinda odd that the team has never done anything big for April Fools. It feels like the devs of most companies with active communities do something, and they could do some good stuff being that their main product is a physics simulator. There's a lot of silly content I could imagine them adding as a sort of April fools surprise/treat. Maybe they are just trying to be professional.
"City textures won't appear correctly until version 0.12 of the game, as they make use of some new features." @Nadeox1 Interesting tidbit from description of Nadeox's new map. Can't wait to see what it's about.
I wonder, with Nadeox1's simple_map showcasing fully-functional weather, if that's going to be one of the main features of 0.12.
Maybe, but it's been a feature for a while. Maybe change of traction in the rain? That would make sense.
Knowing the devs they would also implement hydroplaning and so on. It would be cool if they'd also implement the force difference between just sliding on a muddy surface and parts being grabbed by the mud. It would require reworking the non solid terrain types such as water, sand, mud as it would have to limit the ability of tires to get out of the said surface while sliding sideways as currently it just doesn't want to grab the sidewall and the rim. Option to de-bead the tire would also have to be implemented. I think that full on weather isn't going to be implemented in 1.12 for the reasons listed above.
I don't think that the de-beading would be implemented anytime soon. That would create many performance issues, and one more mod compatibility issue.
That would be interesting. OT: We're inching a bit closer to the update! The first of April is on Sunday!
Let's not (edited for boldness) start a hype train here guys, we are just assuming based on patterns and we as a community tend to be bad at guessing when updates will be released. Besides, updates are usually released on Fridays, so if you're going to get your hopes up at least go for the usual day of the week.
