Heres another go at the preset using Reshade 3.3.2 Ive adjusted the MXAO, took it down a notch, played with IL thanks to a good guy at YT but unfortunatly i couldnt get it looking 'right'. Also thanks to the same guy i tried the ported Advanced Motion Blur but it didnt work at all, might need a look at if it handles distance reverse or not. I adjusted the bloom, or rather the dirt effect. When raising the threshold it for some reason saturates too so instead of a whiteish dirt effect it gets rather blue (if tis the sky thats generating the bloom) so instead itll effect a wider band of colors but in a less noticable way. Ive added two screens to explain what i do with MXAO; The first one is a typical MXAO setting, where it adds darker areas around wheels on the cars, sidewalk edges and so on. The second one is what i use, it has about 7 times higher radius to create a shaded effect (much like baked AO in say 3DSMAX renders) so that the car paint/color/textures look more dynamic, less flat so to speak. Last image is an example of the West Coast USA.ter file ive added, its changes more or less all sun, sky and TOD settings to what i think is a prettier one obviously lol Youll get a nice yellowish horizon when the sun is 30° above the horizon and a nice orange sunrise/sunset. Also, the night will be brighter, much like a city effected by its lights but also to be able to see anything, with or without Reshade enabled MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR west_coast_usa.ter before using this one. I took this one from the cached map in C:\Users\[whateveryourcomputernameis]\Documents\BeamNG.drive\cache.0.12.0.3\levels\west_coast_usa Right, off and on this preset eats my computer to pieces, rather heavy this one.
Good thing you got it to work! It does look like you have ingame PostFx enabled though. Your 'OFF' screenshots have MXAO as far as i can tell. Might be on purpose but to have a real look of my preset you need to disable the ingame PostFX to have a real look, the mix of the two looks abit blurry and undistinct I think ive meantioned it before but you need to bring up the ingame PostFx window (by hitting CUSTOM in the graphics settings and then hit the PostFx button) and untick the box
Thanks for helping me! I might do a Cinematic Video with your ReShade preset tomorow ! Here's an edited screenshot with your ReShade!
How do I disable the in-game PostFX? I hit custom for the overall quality but I don't see a PostFX box that I can untick.
You need to choose Custom again (dont know why it is like that), then you will see a PostFX button, which will bring up the PostFx window, there you will find the Enable/Disable box at the top. Then hit save
I hit custom again, and it still didn't show. I also hit low, then custom, and it still doesn't show up.
Never mind, I fixed it by checking the Enable advanced functions box under Advanced in the User Interface section.
Might have, dont know what im doing when it comes to what file is needed for the sunsky settings and so on. If it works it shouldnt be the normal one though, should have a more 'dynamic' sky color, also thinner clouds. Running the original file myself now since i dont have time to change it again.
Thats weird, Reshade has nothing to do with vehicles. Its a graphics overlay that shouldnt effect any actual game files. Try temporary removing all your mods from the mods folder and see if it still occurs. That or a clean install of BeamNG.
