Of course you get the battle scars with the ground while the bike gets nothing
Your bike may be trying to laugh cause you harmed it lol

Similarly, Ive seen someone run straight into a telephone pole in the middle of a parking lot once. No curbs, cars or rocks in sight but they couldnt avoid that foot wide pole.

One time, I forgot to tighten the bottom bolt of the caliper on my Lefty fork (you have remove it in the rare cases of taking off the front wheel.) I rode all the way to the trailhead and the caliper decided to shake free and preceded to go for a spin in the spokes before snapping the hydrolic line. Had to cancel that ride and ease home with no front brake. "Hey bike shop dude, Ill need another $80 brake line" They told me I'd need a whole new front brake.

If you mean "worst accident", that would be all the times I was taking off too hard from a stop light and the chain popped off the chainring and I flew over the handlebar, smashed my groin on the stem and slashed open my leg open on the big ring. Im sure that the 1, 2, 3 combo move, with a messenger bag full of groceries flying across the intersection was quite a sight.

i dont think all bikes have those issues depending on what brakes you really had cause mine are disk brakes but of course when they get wet doesnt do any good

bikes arent really easy to fix either like if you ripped your brake cord since my bike actually have the brake lines going into the frame of the bike and out the back and to the brakes
so trying to replace the rear brake line is a pain

trying to remove a tire depending on your brakes and chain setup on it real big pain all it does is make it harder to reinstall the tire
here you want a easy job cause you dont have to worry about your car breaking down when you have a bike
    nope
you mine as well stick with a car its quicker but then again it is more dangerous especially with all the drivers with their license from a cereal box

Well, not a mistake, but my chain fell off my bike while I was riding, got caught in the gears, and my bike rolled a few times as well as myself. Had to walk back home with my knee, arm, and legs hurting like crap.

Um yes, you had no reason the bump
OT: Yesterday I was riding by bike when I looked down, I heard a horn, and before I knew it, I got hit, clipped the side of the car my knees and arms were very scratched up, luckily my brother was right there and helped me go back home, my parents were very shocked when I told them. I am still recovering

I got a flat from riding into someone else's spokes when i was 10. I also almost fell asleep and rode into a ditch then nearly flew off into a river.
Lets make it not dead again

I have a 1974 Schwinn Continental that is on what I assume to be original tires based on the rot. It happened about 2 years ago, on one of the coldest days of the year (no snow because Florida) so grip was even worse than "normal." I was riding my bike in a straight line when the camber of the road surface tilted for drainage. The bike literally slipped out from under me.

Dry rotted 40 year old tires:

of course i got my new bike last year...and i already spent a bunch on the bike in repairs...
i was just going down the road casually but since its winter (michigan + winter = slide....)
i still went out but i was just a little too close to the curb and the roads were pretty clear....but since i have to stay on the side of the road. there came this one big snow pile and i had to move over a little closer to the curb that i wish i had been.
so i starting slowly going to the right and that big snow pile grabbed my derailleur and yanked it. knocking me off balance and sliding on the ice up ahead...
the repair bill however was a very different story of 200 dollars as i also somehow broke some teeth off the cassette (well makes sense considering i was going 25mph trying to keep up with traffic since it was the school rush hours of crazy parents and kids)
the repair bill wasnt as pleasing and you will pretty much at least with me be able to buy a rental junker car for the amount i spent so far this year on repairs ($1500)

but makes sense too cause the bike was worth alot more than the repair bill so far...($3500....)

only thing i should be happy about is with a bicycle you dont need registration or insurance to ride it....(dont have to deal with the insurance to fix my car woohoo.....oh wait i die easier. health insurance is gonna have to be on there....)
