Here's another small problem I've found; when the battery is fully charged (100%) you can no longer accelerate on gasoline power alone. Maximum speed will balance itself to whatever speed it can go back and forth between charging and discharging at a little bit.
Both the engine and the fuel tank can catch fire after impact, this happen in BeamNG stock cars. This mod doesn't change that. The fun begins when you switch to evmode and drive into water to extinguish fire
That's exactly what's happening, actually; at high vehicle speeds, the MG2 motor can't provide as much power to the wheels but the MG1 motor is still generating quite a bit of energy from the engine turning it. I currently don't have any "fade-out" of the generation power from either motor at high speeds, meaning regenerative braking and the engine generation power are just as effective at 200 MPH as they are at 50 MPH. At low speeds they lose effectiveness, but not at high speeds. Once I'm able to find actual power equations for generation (braking or otherwise), I should be able to fix that. --- Post updated --- Just wait until I start playing with battery damage and destruction I plan on adding damage tracking to both the motors and the battery, so that overspeed, overcurrent, overcharge, etc. all cause catastrophic damage to the hybrid system. A real Lithium-Ion battery will explode in a most magnificent fashion if it overheats or is over- or under-charged, and I definitely want to make that possible in Beam
One of the simple ways is just reduce the "axle gear ratio" in differentials. This doesn't reduce acceleration significantly because CVTs(including eCVTs) are constant power drive, if the ICE throttle and RPM are determined, the power(not the torque) to the wheel is determined regardless of wheel speed(except too slow or too fast). Example is in the attachment. Top speed 300+km/h. Please extract the zip file and put the .pc into your user folder\Documents\BeamNG.drive\vehicles\etk800\ A new idea: Race Mode. Race Mode is essentially a charge on-the-go mode. In this mode the throttle on the ICE is always fully open and ICE outputs max power, regardless of the input throttle position. Thus hybrid cars can "stack up" energy when not accelerating.Assume two cars have same spec(shape, weight, suspension, engine, etc.). One has conventional drive the other has eCVT drive. They race equal fast before the first corner. During cornering, the conventional car have to reduce throttle and the eCVT car's ICE remains full power, using that power to recharge the battery. Then the hybrid battery can inprove the next acceleration, beating the convertional car.
I've found some similar rubberbanding around the 40% battery charge mark, where holding a speed of e.g. 120 km/h becomes near impossible as the electric drive will jump between charging and discharging, loading or supporting the combustion engine.
I've tweaked the motor torque simulation a bit so that the battery doesn't keep charging at high speeds (unless it's super low), and more electric torque remains available at higher speeds. The top speed of the vehicle is now limited by the "software" (i.e. what would be the software on a real vehicle) depending on the speed of the transmission gears (which have a top safe speed due to vibration). I haven't noticed any rubber banding at all, and the top speed of the vehicle remains approximately the same regardless of the battery state. Obviously when the battery is extremely low, the acceleration power will be reduced, but it's pretty consistent otherwise. I still need to inspect raw horsepower output and verify that there isn't any "magic power", but that will take a lot more finessing before I can get it right. Once I get that right, I'll release an update for both mods. (this is a cross-post to the Citybus thread as well)

As other users have stated, there seems to be a problem where the battery will regenerate to 100% when driving at full throttle on a long straight. The car also seems to find a balance between using electric power and power from the engine once the battery reaches 100% charge. This causes the car to find an equilibrium top speed of ~170km/h. Another thing that I've noticed is that if you use the hybrid transmission with a car that has a turbo, the car does not seem to use the turbo at all to deliver power/torque. I got this information by looking at the "torquecurve" UI app. When this mod works, it's amazing and fun to use. Keep up the good work!
I've managed to fix the rubber banding as well as the issue with charging to 100% at high speeds. The turbo will depend on the particular vehicle/engine, because it will only kick in at higher throttle settings (and the hybrid system usually does not hit high throttle settings unless the battery is fully depleted). I have to do a lot of testing before I release another update, but I did manage to fix most of the issues people have found with the new transmission so far.

Somehow the version 2.0 file got released as the version 2.1 update file (not sure how; I chose the .zip without a version on the end, but it shows "20" at the end of the latest download). The ETK800 and Citybus both share a common utility file for the hybrid system and that file changed in the 2.1 update, so if the ETK800 gets loaded before the bus does, the bus will crash. I'm pushing a new update to the ETK now; hopefully it goes through quickly.

I don't really have to say much, but I did the Italy bus routes with your hybrid bus... It definitely brought in more fun than the standard bus

Ah, I'd probably have to make a nonlinear curve for the throttle pedal. My Volt does the same in "sport" mode; it's a symptom of a gas engine having a nonlinear torque curve whereas electric motors have a linear one.
Maybe haha, I’m not sure. It would make it WAY more driveable though in my opinion. I drove a Fusion hybrid recently and noticed that the electric torque meant you need barely any throttle and it’s smooth and quick to about 20 mph. It’d be a nice experience if the engine wasn’t so unrefined Maybe the throttle adjustments could come in an update soon?
Is the Insane eCVT+A work in progess? Seems that the performance is not as good as Performance eCVT. And the Insane AWD transfercase sounds like 3 gears.
