Haha, it's okay, I don't know everything, I just know what I know. I did not check that you can work around a "0 meters" plane with a terrain block. I usually prefer to be on the safe side when making maps Nice find, good to know for the future When making the map at first I did not put any terrain in the level as it's not really needed. It's here only to fix a bug with a GPS HTML not rendering roads without terrain block in the level, and probably for bigmap view positioning, I had to do some tricks to fit the whole area in the big map and make it look somewhat bearable.
OHHHHHH I thought that was just me using AgentY's car friction editor. That's curious. I wonder why that is.
yea I usually don't read a whole lot of threads I can't do that. i just read the first few pages and then the most recent messages.
To kind of answer your question, the reason why guardrails and some textures are sticky is because this map is ported from a totally different game, on a totally different game engine. There's no real way to solve this issue without having to totally rebuild or recode everything from scratch which is very time consuming.
And if you make your vehicle outside frictionless, it won´t stick to the barriers? Thats a very clever idea!
I'm pretty sure the reason the car sticks to the rails is because the car can clip into it. Rail models are really thin when compared to others and the usual collision setting used when importing daes is "visible mesh final" so hitting it will trap the car. Most people fix the issue by placing invisible road meshes on top of the rails after their model is exported separately from the road and set to not have collisions. This is pretty tedious to do even on smaller maps so it's not feasible here.
Vawriss (who created a C1 map with fixed collisions) mentioned it earlier in the thread - the guardrails have a double sided mesh and the interior faces grab the car on contact. There probably isn't an easy way to remove them either, as his map was all done manually
The road turns white in certain areas... I can only assume this is the groove but it's not rendering properly. Any way to fix it? I saw earlier in the thread to turn my mesh quality to medium or better, but I'm already at the highest...
