Released American Road Refresh

    Hello, i have some question: how to add traffic into 82km run? When i start mission i run alone, roads is empty. Help me please, im not professional in beam.ng

    I'm currently not at home until Saturday, so I can't check. The old time trials are a bit different than the ones I made, so I don't know if it's possible. You could check it in the Mission Editor (World Editor -> Window -> Mission Editor) yourself and maybe enable traffic there. I'll try to add traffic as an option for the next update.

    I tryed to edit this mission, but i can't add traffic. "traffic is not availible in this type of missions" or something like that. If you try to change type of race from : "generated timetrial" to "time trial" - this move adding few issues like this "requied one of these files: /race.race.json". I think we need to edit this map as regular timeattack, and manually set start/finish points and other checkpoints, because the game see this mission as not editable.

    Could you add Garage to Garage scenarios please? I've been longing to play that mission on this map

    Hi, I am writing this while driving the tour again. I found the inverted checkpoint. It is at checkpoint 505-506. I recorded everything from the start (this time with sound) and will be uploading it to youtube shortly. Btw on an unrelated side note: the first video had sound but my mic and the one of my friend were unmuted which is why I muted the entire video (there was a lot of personal information like addresses, names and phone numbers in the almost 4h video). I will post a link to the new one!

    Thank you, I just fixed it :)

    The new version of the mission pack (1.0.3) also includes the original 82 km tour with optional AI traffic. The old version without traffic option will still show up, as it is located inside the level/map folder. It will be removed with the next map update. The track layout is unchanged.

    Thanks for you job! Previous record on 82km race - 35:51:695 on audi rs5. With traffic - this is impossible) I will try to get 3 stars with some supercar. Also i found some new issue: in chase on this map, when you start, camera look at mattres. You have HUD, but it doesn't works. Just like i must drive mattres)

    First off, the work to refurb this project is appreciated. That being said, this suffers from the same issue the original map has in that the roads are horrible, they need some serious terrain smoothing underneath. When driving with FFB, it can get violent just running the freeways.

    Sorry, but I don't think I can do anything about that. I just tried smoothing a highway section as much as I could, but that didn't change anything. I think the terrain's resolution is causing the issue.

    I'm back with a new time!
    I sadly crashed while driving on friday, but have now managed to complete the tour again about 15 minutes faster. Faster is always an answer, because there is still room to improve!
    Anyways, here is the link to the "new" video (with sound this time):

    Oh yes... bus routes please :cool:. My Capsule is getting a bit dusty.


    Suggestions:

    • Does the 300 km long tour include regular stops at gas stations? If not, it maybe it should as some gaz guzzlers (and electric vehicles) can run into issues:rolleyes:

    • Speaking of gas stations, could you maybe add an electric charging station to some/all of them? Otherwise it is really difficult to finish the time trial with an EV as range melts quite a lot with "spirited" driving:p. The solar farm would also made a lot of sense to have an EV charging station. Also, some of them dont seem to offer petrol and I dont talk about the 2 that say so. Could you recheck them sometimes please?

    • Not sure if "Recovery" does that but it "Recovery" also repairs your vehicle, you might wish to add it to the 300km time trial at least as otherwise driving mistakes can make trying the tour even more punishing than the original 82km time trial.

    • For similar reasons, what about adding the 300 km but in seperate parts? Basically the 300 km (which should still be available) could be seperated into six 50 km time trials. (Lets say A - G) That would also make bug hunting a bit easier as people can tell you more when there is something not working well (like the surprise jumps in some high speed sections that wreck your car;))

    Gas stations don't work during time trials and I don't know how to change that :(. Recovery doesn't repair your vehicle, otherwise I would have enabled it. It just teleports the vehicle to the last checkpoint.

    I might do that. It's actually quite easy to do :)

    That's a great idea! I'll definitly add some charging stations.

    That's disappointing, I've always enjoyed the map but using a wheel now with FFB it's unplayable.

    Version 1.1 Release

    New Features/Changes:

    • 6 bus routes (part of map mod, compatible with articulated buses from Wentward Expansion Pack. Please access these missions from freeroam, as they do not work otherwise)
    • bus depot
    • darkness effect, lights and reverb in tunnels
    • some ambient sounds
    • adjusted sky color and clouds
    • new dirt road through a cliff valley
    • fixed AI behaviour at the new (v1.0) highway interchange
    • adjusted the highway near the sandmine to be more usable by trucks and made the AI follow the lanes
    • expanded main city: fixed fps drops by reducing the amount of trees; added hospital, pet shop and more houses
    • added support for parked "AI" vehicles
    • overhauled some parking areas
    • a few new spawn points
    • added electric energy and n2o to some gas stations
    • custom license plate design made by @RealVector
    • used tool for map creators by @AlexKidd71 to reduce the file size by 200 MB (875 > 660)
    • added more things to secret area :rolleyes:
    Mission Pack:
    • added garage to garage deliveries due to high request
    • new offroad time trial, going through Cliff Valley

    This will be the last update for now (apart from bug fixes), as I want to focus on other projects. I will probably come back to this at some point to try to add PBR.
