Yeah, as Snikle said, ultra-luxe saloons tend to have a lot of tech that would be hard to code, but more importantly, they wouldn't really serve much of a purpose in career mode right now other than "haha, look at me, I can afford super-expensive car". Every car in this game has some relevance to the four branches of career mode: -Most cars get at least one race/rally/custom/drag configuration for the Motorsport branch, and a fair few cars (like the K-Series, Scintilla, Covet MR, Bolide, SBR4, Wigeon, and BX) are geared almost entirely towards motorsport. -Most cars get at least one haul box for the Delivery branch, and multiple vehicles (MD-Series, D-Series, T-Series, H-Series, and Pigeon) lean heavily into this branch. -Many cars get at least one police/taxi configuration for the Specialized branch, and many vehicles (like the Wentward, Grand Marshal, Bastion, Burnside, and Bluebuck) are designed around being used in this branch. -Many vehicles get at least one off-road-oriented configuration for the Adventurer branch, with several vehicles (like the Hopper Crawler, D-Series Crawler, Rockbouncer, Dunekicker, Autobuggy, Stambecco, and Wydra) specializing in off-roading of some variety. Now, what about an ultra-luxe saloon? The major problem with that is that it'd basically be "(x car), but triple the price and a lot more expensive to maintain and repair". The cheaper saloons work fine for saloon racing, you can't haul much with an ultra-luxe car, not many police departments use ultra-luxe cars, and they're not very good for off-roading. Another major issue is that the devs seem to have stopped adding brands to the game - the last new ones were in 2022, with SP and FPU. While I think that an ultra-luxe car would be a great way to introduce an English brand to the roster, if we got one, it'll probably be an ETK. However, there is one big use for an ultra-luxe saloon (at least, an older one): demo derbies. When I asked James a couple years ago about whether demo derbies would be in career mode, he said that they would be: Luxury and ultra-luxe cars have featured quite often in demo-derbies and banger racing. Limousines, Imperials, Cadillacs, Lincolns, Jaguars, Daimlers, Lexus saloons, Rovers, Mercedes, and Rolls-Royce Silver Shadows are relatively common in these events (some of the '60s Imperials were banned from demo derbies due to their strength). I could absolutely see a Beamverse '60s or '70s ultra-luxe car in full banger-racing or demo-derby form. That's a fairly realistic price for a car of its type and vintage right now - most early-'30s US cars tend to be $30-60K in stock form.
Deleted --- Post updated --- From next year we will have zero brand new cars. So any new car would be cool. For Earlier Roamer case "-2014 Gavril Roamer: Replaced by facelift Roamer and Tograc" for example there is huge difference between 2004 and 2014 explorer. So I don't see how Facelift roamer replace need for new Suv and Tograc is not a Full-Size SUV.
The Roamer's meant to be more of an Expedition/Tahoe than an Explorer (the Expedition/Tahoe are based on full-size pickup truck frames, while the Explorer started out based off a mid-size pickup frame, before using its own special frames and then becoming a unibody crossover). I genuinely don't get why people keep saying that the Roamer's meant to be an Explorer, when it's way bigger and heavier. As for both of your questions on how the Tograc might have partially replaced the 2014 Roamer, I'm aware that they're very different vehicles, but the Tograc does fulfill showing off some modern tech (like off-road ESC and whatnot) that a modern Roamer would come with. EDIT: And another big reason why I think that a modern pickup truck might not happen is that the devs try to keep the number of frames and suspensions they have to maintain to a minimum. While yes, the Bastion engines would work fine with a modern pickup truck, the devs clearly don't care too much about having more engines to maintain, as stated by Torror in this post. And this is something they've repeatedly commented on and done, even in their recent releases. When asked about why the D-Series wasn't going to get a long bed in 0.9 (when the crew cab D-Series released), Gabe said this: I can't imagine how much of a nightmare it is to maintain 20 frames on the D-Series every single update. (And the nine other frames for the H-Series and Roamer, which (while sharing a basis with the D-Series) are still slightly different.) Agent_Y also made two posts about the MD-Series that prove my point quite strongly: If the MD-Series required the remastering of the T-Series and D-Series to achieve due to sharing body and frame parts with those vehicles, and it was part of a pack of truck content planned out years in advance...that doesn't bode too well for a modern Bruckell pickup in the near future. And ever after all the remasters and new vehicles, most of the official vehicles still have only one or two frames, as of 0.34: -1 frame: '88 Pessima, '96 Pessima, Bolide, Bastion, I-Series, Grand Marshal, Sunburst, Miramar, Wigeon, Pigeon, Wendover, Dunekicker, DT40L, K-Series, Barstow, Bluebuck, Lansdale, Moonhawk, SBR4 -2 frames: Wydra, Rockbouncer, Aurata, Hopper, Scintilla, Nine, LeGran, 800 Series, Burnside, FCV, BX, Covet -3 frames: Piccolina -4 frames: Stambecco, Roamer, MD-Series -Over 4 frames: T-Series, D-Series, H-Series Considering how many frames a Bruckell pickup truck would need, I don't think the devs would want to have another "D-Series" to maintain. While we might consider a modern pickup truck to be really cool and so neat to have, and I'm not saying that it won't happen in the future (an 800 sedan happened, despite being "shot down" by Gabe in this post), I could understand the devs' decision if they never added a modern pickup.
A base 2WD '92 Explorer weighs 1735 kg, while the base 2WD Roamer weighs 2065 kg. Even the heaviest first-gen Explorers didn't go over 1900 kg, and the heaviest second-gen Explorers were still under 2 tonnes. Meanwhile, the standard Roamer cracks 2200 kg in V8 4WD form. And the second-gen Explorer is a fair bit smaller than the standard Roamer: 4.8m long and 1.8m wide with a 2.8m wheelbase vs. ~5m long and ~2m wide with a 3m wheelbase.
The contemporary Explorer is based on a Ranger, not an F-150. Completely different size class. It's like saying the F-150 is actually just a long bed Ford Ranger.
the planned "private security" branch in career mode could make use of a high end luxury car, particularly in VIP escort sort of missions that being said, a high end ETK 846 or Bastion Luxe would be perfectly acceptable stand-ins for this.
Yeah, Belasco is likely a pretty high COL area with lots of big business guys or perhaps actors running around. Maybe you could play as a chauffeur in career mode.
So, let's talk about the MD-Series content update. For the MD-Series content update, I speculate that there will be a school bus version. What do you guys speculate that there will be added to the MD-Series for it's content update?
if the MD does get a bus version i think its safe to say the wentward is gonna get a remaster with the MD addon.
The BCPD police cars look like those from Washington D.C. - maybe Belasco City is also a political centre of the United States of Beam. That would mean thst there are politicians to be driven around. --- Post updated --- Allow me to correct you in one point: The FCV platform is based on just one frame, the Vivace and Tograc just have different body parts. EDIT: I forgot about the panoramic roof, so yes, it's actually two.
Oh, that's a good point. I kinda forgot those missions would be a thing. A school bus is definitely something that we're lacking in the base game - and with the new focus on bus content, I feel it's quite likely for the MD-Series content update. It'd also serve as a nice counter to the DT40L in how and where one would use it - whereas many of Belasco's transit routes are in the city, the school bus would likely be used in the more rural or suburban areas. And whereas the DT40L would be used throughout the day, the MD school bus would mostly be used at the start and end of a day. I'm aware that the Tograc and Vivace are mostly different body parts on the same frame, but the FCV platform has two unibodies - a standard one, and one with a panoramic roof. While techically, that's not too much of a difference, it's still listed as another unibody in the vehicle selector, so I'm counting it as a separate frame.
well lads time to repeat the same joke i made last year about how every country is a year more advanced than the us
