Haha I guess 3-5 fps doesn't matter when you get 85fps anyway No but seriously it's a very easy-to-run map anyway

This map doesn't load anymore. It used to be a really interesting concept and circuit. This map used to load in recent versions but with the last one it doesn't. If the author of the mod is offline then maybe somoene else could revive this just by fixing what it's causing it to not load, he doens't have to work on upgrading the map. If nobody else care this map would die and i won't complain about that, this is just a warning that says: Hey this map used to work few versions before but now it doesn't i'd really like to use it again but if not possible then it's ok. Let it die or not? I tried unpacking the mod (this usually works with really old mods), the map appears but the loading just gets stuck Bumping mod threads on forums is essential for several reasons, all aimed at ensuring that the creativity and hard work of modders don’t fade into obscurity. Here’s a compelling argument for why this practice matters: 1. Visibility and Awareness Mods often compete for attention in a sea of new content. Bumping a thread brings it back to the forefront, reminding community members of its existence. Without visibility, even the best mods risk being overlooked, lost among newer threads and discussions. 2. Community Engagement When a mod thread is bumped, it invites interaction and discussion. This engagement fosters a sense of community among players who enjoy the mod, allowing them to share experiences, tips, and feedback. A lively discussion can also attract new users who might not have been aware of the mod, broadening its audience. 3. Supporting Mod Creators Modders invest significant time and effort into their creations. Bumping their threads shows appreciation for their work and can motivate them to continue developing and updating their mods. Acknowledgment from the community can provide valuable encouragement, especially for independent creators who might feel isolated. 4. Collective Memory As threads sink down the forum pages, they risk being forgotten entirely. Bumping threads helps preserve the collective memory of the community, ensuring that valuable resources, ideas, and innovations remain accessible. This is especially important for mods that may offer unique gameplay experiences or enhancements. 5. Encouraging Updates and Improvements Active threads often lead to mod creators being more responsive to community feedback. When a mod is actively discussed, it encourages the creator to engage with users, resulting in potential updates, bug fixes, and new features. A thriving conversation can inspire creators to expand on their work and keep the mod fresh and relevant. 6. Building a Legacy Many mods have the potential to become iconic within a game’s community. By bumping threads, players help build a legacy around their favorite mods, ensuring that future generations of gamers discover and appreciate them. This legacy can have a lasting impact on the gaming culture surrounding a particular title. Conclusion Bumping mod threads is more than just a simple action; it’s a vital practice that supports mod creators, fosters community engagement, and preserves the rich tapestry of user-generated content. By keeping these threads alive, players ensure that creativity is recognized and that mods continue to thrive in the vibrant ecosystem of gaming. "Copied from Pewterdude73"
No need to copy paste a ChatGPT dissertation and try to be right, you bumped a map that has not been updated for several years and which, despite its update in 2021, has had no evolution. So please let this thread die and do this fix yourself --- Post updated --- Plus bumping threads that no one cares about isn't appreciated by the community
You really are just waiting for someone to bump a thread to annoy them. I wrote everything in order not to get this type of reply and you still do it. I well know that bumping threads is not appreciated but you all need to stop whining about people trying to enjoy the game or participate. Why did you have to reply that when i well damn know how it works? And i don't even know if ChatGPT made that text, it was from a user and thought it would prevent people like you to do this. I'd like to fix it myself but since it's an already done map i wouldn't know where the issue is. Lot of old mods get revived after years, and i care about this one, so it's not true that nobody care. I literally said, if nobody else care then fine, i just warned that the map doesn't load, if someone with knowledge would be willing to fix it he sees this and do it if not then it's fine so please stop adding a useless message about "not bumping" which it's just frustrating and doesn't help at all. I think that threads must die after someone warned that it's not working anymore and then nobody cared after that. That's when a thread should die.
Not gonna lie, I care I care about mods, they are representation of someone's hard work, if you didnt know. And it is very sad when someone's work becomes forgotten and outdated... who knows, there are people who make fixes, remasters - or even author himself can make a comeback! But still, there is a bigger chance that the only thing we will get is 2 or 3 people yapping about that one of them just bumped the thread.
Sorry for off topic: It is clear that you are not representing the community in any way. Big parts of the cummunity, espacially those who are creative, do not think like you. It is sad, that a few members think they are the community and by a closer look we all can see that they deliver no substance at all. Psychofail!
Seems easy to fix. I will try it today. --- Post updated --- Hi everyone, it was quite easy to fix. The devs changed the level name parsing (without telling us ) and thus levels with some special characters in their names won't load any more. Here it is the space " " character. If have fxed it and sent a pm to the original author. I will not upload anything here without his permission. How to fix: Basically change all filenames, the root folder and all apearances of "Road of Speed" on and in all the files into "RoadofSpeed". There are many (about 200+). I did this task with the help of Notepad++ quite easy. Alternatively you could use AlexKidd71's great Tool which is able to rename maps. The zip name does not count at all (should be the same as the internal name but isn't here. This could be a problem for Alex' tool, idk. It should be the best, to rename the zip accordingly). Happy playing !
I’ll try this fix you provided hoping to figure out how to change all names in one shot like you did. Anyway i agree about asking permission to work with other people files but i think that if it only means fixing broken stuff it would be ok to upload the file even without permission simply cause nobody is claiming the whole mod as theirs and is not stealing any rights, if it’s a fix we all know the original mod creator and it would just simply let other user use the revived mod again. TL;DR Asking for permission is right but there’s no harm if a fixed file gets uploaded anyway, it could always be removed if the original author doesn’t wants it
Unfortunately I have no response from the author till now. I have opened the doors so that everyone can play it again. Reuploading with no permission is a no-go, in my humble opinion. I will not do it.
I did indeed fixed it thanks to Barbent Servo GT I'm taking the responsability to post the fix. As i previously said if the author might want me to take it down, just contact me and i'll remove it. Now you can play on it again thanks to me and Barbent, happy playing
