it's not true!! this is my favourite map!! usually I drive on it!!! probably if you add something new (stunts stuff) the map will have second life!! second chance to reach the success!!! it will be great if you add some mission on it, because it is similar to Utah map which has a lot of success for its missions or races..
To have a successfull Patreon way of income, people have to work monthes for free to obtain fidelity of their followers. One good exemple is the people having a huge database of fans in Deviant Art, that advertise themself for their Patreon after. The success is huge as well, but the work is years of making daily drawings and answering kindly to people. It's far from being : you're talented>open a Patreon>income. Also most of us modders have a work beside, so the time investment to make something like that before it works have to be considered.
Love this map, great work! However, I did find a glitch in a road texture in a a part of the map I sadly do not remember. Imagine link: http://images.akamai.steamuserconte...399/2089B6655678DA7B19BD42CFB5A3F2E371EF5782/
Yes, road decals are unstable on this map because the base of the map is four years old... The terrain coordinates are very important when you create a map, also this map have bad coordinates. This causes problems on the decals I didn't corrected this problem because if you move the terrain, you must move all objects too. It's not really easy.
Hey, I've downloaded the map and all it's stuff in 2.0 and it looks great, but it's really slow and sticky. I know it's not my computer because although its bad at graphics the lag is usually OK. it's not FPS that's the problem either, it's running on normal realtime FPS, it's just that it feels like it's in 1.5 or 2x slow motion. Has anyone else had this problem?
Sorry it's difficult to correct problems when you are not oneself in front of the computer. The support team know better do that. Try to contact us in this heading https://www.beamng.com/forums/questions-and-support.5/
I got a question about the bird sounds that play in the beginning. Does it come from the opening scene of an old Jack Nicholson movie? Every time I watch this movie, the first few seconds remind me of spawning on your map.
Well, all ambient sounds comme from free library of this site https://www.freesound.org/home/login/ And the little intro music is composed, play and record by me.
Could you make sure the AI works correctly? AKA almost every road and, when going under the broken bridge, not to try to go onto the bridge. (you'll see what I'm talking about if you have AI go that way.) Really want to do some Police Chases here, but the AI sort of cuts it short :/
Had an old version of this map working with some texture bugs on 0.10.0. Updated to 1.8 and now it don't even shows up at the Freeroam selection screen Any hints? Thanks in advance.
Works fine Put the zip I downloaded a week ago into level-selector and it works fine,. You either have an old conflicting version, or you have a mod that conflicts with this one knocking this out. Fix your mods on your end, it's not the map. Also, to another poster, about the decal roads, it's not the location of the map center that throws off the decal roads, between versions the decal road algorithm has changed a few times, you just need to move the road's nearby node just a hair and it will right itself. My Roane County map is one of the largest, and the decal roads work just fine, it's just, especially if you have lots of nodes spread far apart, it does this sometimes. After each new version you must inspect your map. Map works great, only glitch was aforementioned decal road corruption (just move the node a bit and it's dandy). 5/5. Don't need to more than just start this map up to see every reason why any vehicle/driving game or sim buff should buy this game - this map is why I did. Oh and it's a great place to introduce your unneeded pianos to your friend gravity. KLONGGGG!
Well, disabled all mods, cleared cache, verified integrity, and enabled only Canyon Of Speed. Still not showed up. However, I noticed that for some reason the installation date was still the same of the old version. Just removed the zip from the mods folder, started game, closed it again, replaced the zip and voilá, it's working
load this map, have game in windowed mode, enter f11 map editor with f11 key and wait for it to load editor function SHIFT+C to free-cam if you have not. Select the DECAL ROAD EDITOR mode from above toolbar. press 1 key to make sure you're in the select mode. click on the scrambled section of road. It should light up with grey outlines with a green line down the middle with some small box-shaped square where each 'node' is. Press 2 key to go into the edit/move mode to move said boxes. If you make a mistake, or select an overlay (like dirt or tire rubber marks), press CTRL+Z to undo as needed. Sometimes you might have to click the edge of the road in the "1" selection mode to get the right one, then go back to the "2" node editor mode like I mentioned.... click on one of these squares, it should turn blue. Move it an inch or so in any direction, until it's not scrambled. Select FILE > SAVE from the menu, it should take a second or two to save. It is now safe to press F11 and go back into the game. If you saved your change you will not have to fix this next time. Best wishes!
I started this map 3 years ago, I had no knowledges of map creation for beam at this time. Also there is a big problem with roads because the map is too far from coordinates 0,0,0 (x,y,z) of the world creation, it cause this bug, and some values of road setting are wrong. Since this time some problem have been corrected on the editor by the dev team but I never corrected my road values.. Sorry for this bug.
Scrambled roads happen anywhere, but can happen more with older maps as the version changes things a lot, and also, the further from 0,0,0 center it is as you said, the more those nodes can 'move around' due to floating-point math rounding. It often happens after a corner, with uneven node spacing on a nearby straight-away road like such. Or sometimes you do everything by-the-book and it still does it. Little bits of this are all over my maps, just most you won't notice and many I even forget about to fix before updates to the map are published. It's easy enough to fix with little user-knowledge beyond the article above. --Enjoy the editor update.
