1961 Moldt Taurus 1.3

Early 1960s German sausage car

    1961 Moldt Taurus-Cologne 17M

In the late 1950's, European (German) Moldt franchise had one awesome idea. Put the design cues from her sister US Moldt corporation into the scaled-down (2.75 m) wheelbase and put the additional retouch with the boxer, flat-4 1750cc engine for imitating the V8 feeling on the small scale. Idea was great success, because European customers had an American-feel car for half the price. Additional designing innovation was the headlights look and the front grille and also the real grille look, which all look like the small bratwürst sausage. So, this car was the father of the sausage-wave which hit the Europe during the early 1960s.

    Here're the tech stats
    • 1750cc boxer, flat-four engine
    • Top speed: 165 km/h
    • 0-100 for 14.5 seconds
    • Fuel economy: 11.1 l / 100 km
    • Suspension: MacPherson front / semi-trailing arm rear
    • Front engined, rear wheel drive
    • Redline: 5000 RPM
    • Sausage-inspired external design
    • Front disc / rear drum brakes
    • Comes in two-toned paint job (dark cabernet / snow white)
    • NSW license plates which look like old Cuban ones (for better feeling)
    • Wheelbase: 2.75 m
All similarities with 1960-1964 Ford Taunus 17M are coincidence, nothing to worry! : )
Have fun and have a good ride with this classic.

    Additional info:
No known bugs are spotted, except the driver and hood camera, which had quite weird position, so I've added placeholders for proper camera angles.
