Ever wondered what a 428 Cobra Jet would do to a Barstow? Well, wonder no more!
I figured the Barstow was close enough to a 68 Cougar/Mustang to be a good enough substitute for making the actual cars and what do you know? it almost performs like the real thing.
What's included:
I followed an enthusiast's rebuild of a 68 cougar and worked with them to get data on torque curves and other data for the engines and transmissions they put in their cars. The 390 engine is the one they have installed in their Cougar and the 428 Cobra Jet data came from the one they put in a 68 International Scout.
- 428 Cobra Jet Engine
- No custom model yet
- 390 CUI FE Ford Engine
- No custom model yet
- Two transmissions based on real-world transmissions
- Lightened nodes to match the real-world weight
- Custom 290/50r15 tires to match the ones on the real car I based this on.
- Tire data is an estimation based on real-world achievements 0-60.
- The config has the 390 CUI, the wide ratio transmission, and the custom tires installed.
A couple of notes:
- This thing hates turning with the custom tires.
- Deploy the handbrake!
- You may experience +10 to manliness when driving this.
- I did not get permission from the enthusiast to share their site
