Airdente
Air suspension, drive modes and an active wing with a real air brake, for the Cherrier Ardente.
Eight drive modes that command ride height, spring rates, anti-roll bars and adaptive damping together, a Custom mode with 26 sliders, and a rear wing that rotates into an air brake when you hit the pedal.
What is in it
Air suspension
Three parts replacing the front struts, rear springs and rear dampers. Ride height, spring rate and anti-roll stiffness become live parameters instead of fixed ones.
Drive Modes (Airdente)
Goes in the Drive Modes slot. Adds Drive, Drive+, Sport+, Off-Road and Custom on top of the factory Comfort, Sport and ESC & TC Off. The factory Default Mode, Comfort, Sport, Off, Arsenic and Off-Road sub-parts all keep working.
Active Wing with Air Brake
An alternative to the factory retractable spoiler, in the same slot.
The air brake
The stock wing has two actuators at different points of its chord, so it rotates as it rises - but both share one input, which locks the angle to the deployment. This part gives the front actuator its own input, and then the wing can rotate without rising.
Under braking the rear actuator goes up and the front one drops. The angle goes from 23 degrees to 62 degrees, proportional to how hard you press, above 54 km/h. It only ever raises the wing, never retracts it.
Enabled by default in Drive+, Sport, Sport+, Off-Road and ESC & TC Off. Off in Comfort and Drive. Adjustable in Custom.
The travel is capped where the linkage stops being happy, so the wing cannot be commanded into a position that breaks it.
Custom mode
26 sliders, all free to change in career mode:
- Suspension - ride height, spring rates, anti-roll bars, five damping parameters per axle
- Aero - wing angle at low speed, at high speed, and the air brake
- Electronics - traction control, TC front/rear bias, stability control, ESP sensitivity
- Powertrain - gearbox mode, boost offset, exhaust loudness and gain
Six more sliders let you override the traction control calibration of each individual drive mode without entering Custom at all.
Every tooltip lists the reference value of every preset, in the order the game shows them.
The powertrain sliders need a combustion engine and a turbocharger - on the electric Ardente they do nothing, and each tooltip says so. They are there for the petrol and diesel versions of the platform.
Installation
- Fit the three air suspension parts. They are required - the drive modes command damper modes that only these parts know.
- Choose Drive Modes (Airdente) in the Drive Modes slot.
- Optionally fit Active Wing with Air Brake in the spoiler slot. Without it everything else still works, minus the air brake.
Possible conflicts
- Other drive mode mods for the Ardente. This adds an option to the same slot instead of replacing the factory part, so they coexist - but only one runs at a time.
- Other mods placing Lua under vehicles/vivace/lua/. Two mods sharing that tree can silence each other's controllers. If a controller stops updating after installing another Ardente mod, look there first.
- Running the drive modes without the air suspension parts will log "Can't find mode" messages from the adaptive dampers. Harmless - the dampers just stay where they were - but the suspension parts are the intended setup.
No official file or part is replaced. Everything is an additional optional part.
Part names are original and the mod is not affiliated with any manufacturer. Vibecoded by GTMoraes with Claude.
It has been tested, but bugs may still be lurking — if you find one, or if you have a suggestion, just leave a comment.
