Arima USDM Expansion Pack 2.3 - USDM Reflector

After the introduction of both the Ardeo and Cyriva models in the United States, Arima wanted to bring in a smaller, but just as stylish and sporty sedan to the market. As sales were rising for the newly introduced Caelo and Gaia models, Arima decided that they would bring these two smaller models into the United States. Meanwhile, American manufacturer Gavril was looking to add a cheaper, and more budget-friendly car into their product lineup, and ended up partnering with Arima to both rebadge and rename the Gaia into the Gavril Cambria. The Cambria was targeted to both new and budget-conscious buyers who were looking to get a reliable vehicle without breaking the bank. Two trim levels were brought over with modest prices in order to bring wider appeal to the Gavril brand.



As for the Caelo, it would be renamed the Kalima, but would still be sold under the Arima brand. The Karima's more sporty and expensive offerings targeted car buyers with low and high incomes who were looking for a car just as sporty, but smaller than both the Ardeo and Cyriva and other similar cars in their class. Unlike the Cambria, which had only two trims available, the Kalima offered four trims including a special La Noir variant, along with various other options like a sunroof and a more premium sound system available. All Kalima's were equipped with a 1.6L I4 engine as standard. Unfortunately though, when Arima discontinued the Caelo and Gaia models in Japan in 1998, the American models also suffered the same fate. In total, 140,000 units of both the Kalima and Cambria combined were sold during its 5 model year run.
