You have a nightmare ahead of you

    THERE IS NO MONSTER HERE, I cant see it being possible in this narrow place. Pictures are just for show.
    A Backroom BeamMP server might be a thing soon, check out the billboard in town. Hopefully we can make that happen well enough. If you haven't been on cops and robbers or demo derby by NuclearKnight00, please go have a look, it's incredibly fun!


    If you're not careful and noclip out of reality in the wrong areas, you'll end up in the Backrooms, where it's nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz(soon), and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in(if you avoid a straight path).
    God save you if you hear something wandering around nearby, because it sure as hell has heard you.

    Nobody has ever escaped to tell their story, so you can only live it through extremely bad luck, or choosing to spawn here.
    Something is always watching, following, whispering the engine notes of the previous unfortunate vehicles that perished here. (not in singleplayer)

    That's the story anyway.


    This is first an insanely difficult maze with a hidden end point. Then second, a place for multiplayer car hunts to the theme of backrooms. Other than that, a few things to play with and a long road to harass AI. Low power vehicles recommended.

    It was a good idea, navigating pitch black isn't easy, especially when headlights don't light anything up.

    I used some of the empty space to make a highspeed ring/360D ski slope. Off topic I know, its something extra at least.

    Saferoom is still in the same place and will never move, you will see this on the inside. Very rewarding and if found legit, seriously, well done.

    4 roads, 3 slightly different variations and space to drive behind the houses if you want.
    AI is supported. Fleeing AI can make the corner if you put some distance between you and them. They also panic, use the phone, not see things, make mistakes and DUI. Here they do.

    Minor expansion and changed the side wall for something a bit more free, "escape" to nowhere.

    Find the saferoom!

    press F11 and toggle visibility on the "ceiling" folder to see from above.

    The square rooms are an example of what is a saferoom and how it is made. 99% of walls are made of 2x6m wall sections, one of them has no collision so you can drive through it into the "end" of this maze.

    Let me save you some time, it isn't any of the ones in a long line.
    This is still the main layout and is where the saferoom can be found.
    You can easily find the saferoom in world editor if you know how, keep it a secret or show everyone, it's up to you.

    Teleports may not work in multiplayer, they're untested in MP. The majority of teleports are to catch you when you fall out of the map, 1 of them will teleport you really high to fall into another. (they're set to "default_vehicle")

    Big thanks to Reddit user Ojinavi for being generous with the wallpaper and Kane Pixels YouTube channel for the awesome content that is the reason I made this map. I will try to contact Kane Pixels to see if I can get any objects/design input for the map, specifically the monsters bedroom, that'd be cool.

    All objects in the town area except trees/bushes has been made by me. They are located in a folder called "backtown". They are going to be part of a UK town map I would like to make including more buildings and varieties. Anyone can use these and those buildings in any way, for anything, FOR FREE, FOREVER! Use them however you want! They might need improving a bit. (let me know so I can check out your projects please, thanks!)

    Hi,

    I like your map creation and I was wondering if you would be interested in making it into say a stress testing Benchmarking tool for some YouTubers like Camodo Gaming with his Flood Mod Challange YouTube video content by "I Don't know if it's possible but it would be cool if it's doable" by making the whole map tiltable so the ground can be on an incline and have an oceam below the map so the other Flood Mod could be used in combination with this map mod so gamers can be challanged to escape the rising flood water as they try to navigate their way through the Backrooms as they are able to set the speed of the rising flood waterthat should make navigating this map more challanging, ??

    Just an idea!!

    As for no real monsters to jump scare people with,
    Maybe you could incorperate mod crator chris_lucas with his Goat mod creation to be an Attack Goat so to speak.. lol..

    That's if you can find the time to change your Backrooms Map into something more thrilling, Just an idea..
    Also there seems to be a Crawling Creature Mod created by who knows who that has a thread made by
    DaddelZeit making en enquiry about it..
    Also there is the
    Bernd created Klann linkage walking machines mod that could also be used with permission to make into something scary for a jumpn scare feature for the Backrooms map mod..

    Just some more ideas..

      Hello!
      At some point I made a bunch of mazes in a test map, it was too boring for beam I thought but rotating them for flood escape is a great idea. I'll try putting one together and one that is done backroom style too.

      I'd rather leave extra mods down to players and let other people either make their own additions or separate mods that could work here. It's originally just a "blender super noob" novelty map. A problem with this map is the amount of objects to rotate, it is possible but selecting this many would just crash the game. Another problem is AI paths, soo many would be needed and when I tried they always hit walls.

      There isn't actually a discussion thread for this or any of my uploads, normally people send a message or write something here, either way is good and I never looked into starting a thread for a mod anyway lol.

    I like the update but there's only one thing that's noticable : the roof seems to be in only one place.

    Otherwise it's a great Map.


    Suggestion : for the Monsters they could be brain car .

      That sounds odd. There are parts without ceiling outside the main maze area, between the maze and street. I hope it's that area and not the new parts. The update was tested by someone before I uploaded to make sure it is working and all was good.

    I'm wondering if you can make the AI work on the yellow rooms so I can use the AI to follow me more precise and never go straight to the wall?

      I have tried with AI, placing roads down they don't stick to the line or make turns well enough. Also tried driving my own line, still hitting walls.

      I would like it very much if someone could make that a scenario to download. I would make sure not to change the map so it would always work too.

    This is a neat concept, and really gets my creative juices flowing - I only wish that there was 'road' pathing so we could have AI chases within the map. No wire monster, maybe, but a cat-and-mouse pursuit by an unknown vehicle would be grand.

      I'm unsure if AI could work in a place like this because of how it works. If it could, it would take a lot of path placing. I'm currently working out the best way to fit in teleports and other things seen in the backroom tapes, including something AI will be able to drive on.
