Alpha Barbent's Homerange 0.1a

~70km² of realistic and funny action for all kind of vehicles

  1. Barbent Servo GT
    Hello everyone :)!
This is my attempt to turn ~70km² terrain into an enchanting and detailed playround for all kinds of BeamNG vehicles. To realize my dreams of an ultimate and versatile map was the intention. Now it is time to share my work of 1½ years with you. You can say it is blasting every expectation or you can say it is not even finished. Both true.

In both cases I would be very happy to see many of you making a donation, say thanks by helping me to finish the project.

Of course I will try to continue to work like I did. To be able to have as many time as possible for ongoing progress I will offer paid "Pioneer Updates" about every 300h of work. You are welcome to support in that way too and to be up to date with my latest inventions and plenty of new content.

If you don't like to pay or if your budget does not allow you to donate, don't panic. All you have to do is wait because every futur version will become free after I have made another big step in progress. Or you simply let pass one update and support me with the next one.

There is no obligation to purchase, subscribe or pay in advance, but you still have the opportunity to significantly support the further development of the map. I just want all of you to have the fun I have.

Note: Since it is in alpha state eveything is work in progress. There are some issues of course, and they will be fixed as soon as possible. If you encounter raw terrain, you reached regions, that are not finished yet. Very huge areas are finished though and ready to play on land, water and air.

More Information about the project, the progress and all the content can be found in the Discussion Thread.

Many thanks go to all those helping hands and supporters and especially to @AlexKidd71, @Leo Zieger, @Murokmakto and @Top Drive. Big thanks goes to the BeamNG Team for this absolutely great platform!

If you feel hatred or are otherwise triggered by the AI generated spawn point images, which are only there as superficial placeholders for now, there is an AntiAIPicturePack! THIS IS ALPHA not brainwash! This is a GAME!

This is the best beamng map i've ever seen! Even though its not finished yet its already very high detailed and beautiful. There are offroad tracks, small roads, bridges and so much more to explore! I love the different terrains and the landscapes. I was really shocked when i joined for the first time. this size and level of details is just incredible. You can clearly see that its made with love!

There is so much more to say but overall its just awesome. im really looking foorward to whats coming next!

Thanks for your review! It's too early for missions at the moment, as I'm still working on the map design. Everything is still a work in progress, but you can certainly come up with your own missions if you like. For example, try transporting a heavy component with a semi-trailer truck from Pi-Water up to Mt. Woodpecker, where the rockfall protection is being built. Or try transporting a new race car with a trailer from Nodehinge Hill to the Airtona racetrack and set new training records for yourself using the automatic timing system. Or find out which bus routes would be interesting for you. Let me know if you have any furtcher mission ideas; maybe I'll add them later!

This is just astonishing work. The fist time I loaded the map I was In shock of the size. And I love the forgotten/ Abandoned atmosphere, really works well with my head-cannons

Genuinely vanilla+ detail in several areas, obviously lovingly crafted. May be the best map for this game, and it's definitely a WIP, not finished yet.

There are a lot of pieces of this map that are far and above the best I've seen for this game, the road engineering alone in some places is better than literally any other work, from dirt jaunts up the coast to the most brutal, fantastic b-roads through hills and around bays that have off camber corners, bumps, rises, potholes, water overflow, and just generally horrible pavement, but REALISTIC pavement quality always persists in these areas. It's not just bad pavement for bad pavements sake, you can keep speed on these roads and really push a nugget to its limits, and learn what happens when you exceed them. It's a blast to drive, and it's one of the only places I can really get my fix for that kind of driving in a sim game. That combined with the highway system and small populous areas really tie it all together to feel like an actual place, and not a collection of ribbons that someone spattered on some terrain they brushed in half an hour (which at the quality of these roads I honestly wouldn't mind)

If there's some things to nitpick: #1) I'd really love to see this map finished, and other small scale projects like it in the future. The author of this mod knows how to make earnest, nadgery backroads, and that's a skill that should be expanded on! More of that would do lots for this game, Tail of the Dragon isn't sketchy enough after driving some of these. I've had my fair share of moments driving on this map that never would have happened on the smoother, flowing roads that people make for this game, and cranking the asphalt bumps up just makes every car skip and hop at a flat rate over the road. It's not realistic or entertaining to drive like the roads on this map are. #2) Do away with the A.I placeholder images for all the spawns at some point LOL #3) Consider expanding on the town at the very north of the island, or another undeveloped area, and create the most sizeable town for the map. It doesn't need to be skyscrapers big, don't get me wrong, but a gridded downtown with a few neighborhoods flowering out from it would be terrific. This map would see a lot more play in MP if this were so, especially if you got some of the basic buildings out of the way, a sizeable police station to name one. Think of the main East Coast town.

Thank you so much for this map and please continue with it! I WILL wait for years if that's what it takes!

This is probably the best map for variety and pure driving on the repo right now. Actually smooth roads that flow extremely well. I wish that I had found this sooner
