(View of the first Activity, Asphalt Downhill Race)
bvAIDownhill is a large playground featuring fifteen different Activities designed around AI usage. All tracks on this map feature AI support and have been tested with various stock vehicles.
The map is designed to be lightweight and run on low-end machines with a good amount of AI. The amount of Forest content is minimal to ensure good rendering times, and the number of different types of trees/grass is limited on purpose. On machines with limited Memory, using the same type of vehicle is a good way to have more AI.
Tracks are detailed to give a good sense of speed and distance when performing the various Activities. Grass, neighboring trees, and asphalt/ice variations were added to provide necessary visual cues.
All Activities feature a starting grid, a checkered finish line, and a marked location to place a designated Chase Vehicle.
To ensure the AI function properly, it is best to place a Chase Vehicle in the designated zone for each Activity and use the "Chase Me" feature of the Radial Menu.
It is possible to use the "Random" option of the Radial Menu on most Activities, however note that some AI may decide to go back up the mountain.
To setup an AI race, start by spawning the Racers at the start of the Activity:
Then at the very end of the Activity, there is a marked Chase Vehicle spawn location. Place a vehicle in the specified area:
With the Chase Vehicle still selected, open the Radial Menu and go to AI->Chase Me:
Enjoy the race!
You can reset all vehicles at the same time to re-start the race by pressing Shift-R.
If you change a Vehicle to another kind, you will need to reset the AI. To do this, navigate to the Chase Vehicle by pressing Tab and repeat the AI->Chase Me operation.
