Beta (City of) Los Injurus 2023-12-20

I run this through 'the cleaner' to remove unused assets before uploading any public-facing versions of this map. I could cut-down on some things else-wise but this would ruin both the variety and hand-drawn nature (and immersion) in the map. In real life, each road is a little different, and this map should resemble that.

I am trying to keep requirements for the final version in-line with what is required now. Of-course they may go up a little, but it's slow and gradual over time. There won't be a sudden massive change in requirements, but like anything with assets being added over time, the requirements will slowly creep higher.

Great! That's exactly what it's meant to do - provide a little bit (or A LOT) of that something-something everyone is looking for - in more than just one or two ways. That means it's doing it's job of making people happy, and that makes me happy.
However, should you find some short-coming in the map / find it doesn't in some way have enough of what you looking for, or if I seemed to pass over some type of game-play ideas and it seems lacking, DO hop on the [discussion] thread (find the tab for it above this review) and let me know:
*What you do or do not like
*Why you do or don't like this (give me some ideas)
*What is missing or you couldn't find?
*What is the most important feature / least important feature of any map?
Of course, you don't have to do this, but it does help a bit (and I don't limit this idea to just you, anyone can say such) and helps me make a map better suited to the demographic that plays this game (I do already have a pretty good idea, but more info is always better).

It takes so much time to do things properly, but when it brings people joy then it's all worth it. I enjoy playing the finished product also, so I'm not entirely missing the good part of it either. As long as people want to play it and some even support the map which of-course IS optional, I have zero issue spending thousands and thousands of hours making it.
That said there's plenty of good stuff to come in future updates. I just have to catch up on my house a bit here before the thing falls in on my head or before my yard turns into a jungle (my grass is a foot high and I'm still not done fixing the riding mower, eek! hopefully I get it fixed before I need to do a controlled burn to tame the yard, especially because my house is in the middle of it). God bless NOT living in an HOA.

10,000 hours (estimate, no way I can keep track). If I put 40 hrs a week (more weeks than not) into the map, over about 5 years this map has been in production (it will be 5 years this May/June when I started making models and revising the old map into Los Injurus City), that'd work out to just over 10,000 hours. I include the time I spent modeling things for this map, scripting indices or even making textures also, not just in-game-editor or AI testing time.
It's a lot of work, but I do enjoy it, and since it's something I can do which brings others joy, I will continue doing it (I am also physically disabled, so often it's one of the only things I actually CAN do when I'm stuck in the house for days/weeks/months laid-up injured).
By comparison, Roane County TN map has just over half that much time, but Roane County will be getting just a little more time, to bring it up to modern formatting standards for map asset and texture indices (so it loads more reliably and plays/looks better and not broken and hopefully won't break worse in future updates which would - lacking this - cause it not to load). It's been a while since it's been updated.

You're quite welcome. It's a labor of love, and I am glad you and about half a million other downloaders enjoy it. When creating this map I never thought it would reach so many people (even if even many folks may have downloaded it more than once), but honestly I am happy to make someone's day better. Gives a little solace from the pain and being stuck in the house (periodically) due to physical issues/disability (or due to me 'overdoing it' when trying to do things, despite my body falling apart).
However; worry not about me, but just about having a good time and enjoying the map (and of-course the rest of life too).

You can't be serious. Drive around more if you feel there is no difference.
However, future updates will be much more common; because in two weeks I'm getting gigabit fiber internet in-stead of slow capped satellite.
Please follow the development thread for this map, and look at all the pages worth of updates in the last two years.
