Nice idea. It could use a rev limiter though. The general accepted max RPM for a diesel engine is arround 5500 RPM because the fuel needs time to ignite itself which limits peak RPM to values below that of petrol engines. As a modern diesel, it is also fuel injected, which also means that the ECU would simple not inject fuel when RPM is above the limit.
