    After almost a year, including a break from BeamNG, anxiety, and finishing touches, here is my first map, Douglas Rally 2019, heavily inspired by Rally Forest 2015.

    Here are a few examples of the difficult sections on this stage. It's really simple, so I don't have much to say.

    There is also a night version of the map. I would very much recommend the Realistic Headlights mod (https://www.beamng.com/threads/headlights-beam-pattern-realistic-v0-17-6.62219/) unless BeamNG fixes such problem. This course takes a ton of skill and knowledge, so don't complain if it seems difficult. I tried to make the course difficult on purpose...I think... More difficult than what seems like most other rally stages/dirt roads on BeamNG.

    I also added in groundmodels to almost every surface, just to make the crashes even more insane. Yet don't worry, you're still able to slide.
    Here is a run of the day version. The night version will be a surprise for you. But if you want my opinion on the easiest vehicle to use, I'd say the Covet for sure, Sunburst being the hardest, and the Rally Barstow (WBIMP Vehicle Pack) being extreme mode.

    God I love this map, just a nice and basic realistic rally map and that's what I love the most about it; not too ridiculous. The only thing that would make this even better is if there was a reversible time trial for this. Great work man. :)

      I was going for more DiRT 4 because I don't have a wheel **Triggered** but with the difficulty, it would fit DiRT Rally a bit better lol.

    This map looks absolutely amazing..
    It would be fucking awesome if there was a lite version, because it took almost 10 hours to download, and the map is a bit laggy, otherwise.. Nice ass map!!

    My only consideration is that perhaps you should consider a Lite version, with less trees, to improve performance on lower-end machines.


    Other than that, map's great.

      Thanks for the review. I'll get working on a lite version soon enough, though I think the original version might be a bit better FPS wise soon enough.

    Very good, I enjoy the inspiration you took from actual rally courses and it fits the feel of rallying perfectly. My only suggestion would be to add maybe 2d crowds on the sides to further help with the whole "event" rp. But other than that awesome job.

      I honestly don't remember taking any real inspiration from real rally courses lol. Atleast directly. Glad it's at the point where it looked that way lmao.

      Yeah, That's a really good idea. Give it Gran Turismo 4 vibes I suppose.

    This is a great addition to the few rally maps within BeamNG.Drive.

    The layout is great. The mix of fast bumpy straights mixed with the unexpected corners and obstacles. Though there are some weird tree placements which may possibly cause your unexpected doom while driving at full speed, it still makes for a great challenge for both amateur and expert racers alike.

    The graphics don't disappoint either. Despite looking much more simpler compared to some other highly detailed racing maps that I know of, it gives off a clean uniform look, which makes driving on this map a lot less confusing.

    The performance needs some improvements though. On a Ryzen 3 2200G w/ 8 GB ram @ mixed med-high settings (dynamic reflections turned off), framerate tends to be low, which is ironic considering it tends to look like a clean map with only a fair amount of detail in it. I believe there should be a smarter way of building a dense environment without affecting a whole lot of performance.

    Despite the given flaws, I can see potential in this map and I really enjoyed doing runs on it while having an imaginary co-driver giving me directions in my head. I do understand that this is your first map, so I hope you're open for improvements and hopefully make this and future maps better in the near future.

    So in conclusion, a fun and challenging rally map that requires a few environment and performance improvements gets a 4 out of 5.

      Tried to reply, but the site said nope.

      Thanks for the review. I'll fix up some of the tree placement when I can. The FPS also runs just fine on low with reflections on low, but the reason I took a break, the Tree's LOD's bugging out was annoying. If there is any way to fix/work around the FPS issues, I'd be happy to help.
