Tune your car the way real tuners do and feel every change instantly.
Draco's Tuner turns BeamNG into a working dyno cell. It's not a gauge that reads numbers back at you; it's a real calibration tool wired straight into the engine. Type a value into the fuel or ignition table and the engine breathes differently on the very next frame more power, more heat, more fuel, more risk. Chase timing too far and you'll hear it knock and watch the ECU pull ignition to save itself. Ignore the warnings and you'll blow the motor. Get it right and you'll make real, measurable power.
It works like the tuning software the pros use, scaled down to something you can actually learn from and it runs right inside the game, or in a web browser on your phone.
⭐ What you can do
- Tune the fuel table set the air/fuel mixture across the whole rev and load range
- Tune the ignition table advance the timing for real power, right up to the knock limit
- Control boost set a target in psi, one number or one per gear (turbo cars)
- Set a rev limiter flat or per-gear
- Two-step launch control hold a lower rev limit on the line for a clean launch
- One-click presets Stock, Street, or Aggressive, generated to suit whatever car you're in
- Record dyno pulls capture peak power, torque and boost, then export a proper dyno sheet
- Auto-tune with the Mixture Map the tuner watches what your engine actually does and corrects the fuel table for you
- Save your tunes name them, reload them later; they survive game restarts
- Tune from your phone scan a QR code and control everything from a second screen
Installing
1. Subscribe/download and add to mod folder
2. Restart the game so it loads properly
3. In any vehicle, open the Apps menu and add Draco's Tuner. Give it a wide slot it's a big app
4. Drive. That's it
⚠️ Fuel-injected cars only. Old carburettor engines (doesn't catch every mod because of part names) don't have an ECU (doesn't necessarily need tunable ecu will override most stock ecu's as long as its fuel injected).
Your first tune (2 minutes)
1. Open the app and go to the Tuning tab. The colourful grid is your fuel table
2. Hit the AGGRESSIVE preset button under the 3D graph. Feel the difference on your next pull
3. Watch the little red box move around the grid as you drive — that's exactly where your engine is running right now
4. Switch to the Ignition table. At full throttle, click the cells the red box sits in and add a couple of degrees. Watch Power and Peak Power climb
5. Keep going until the Knock Limit readout turns red — that's the engine telling you it's had enough
6. Back on the Fuel table, richen those same cells slightly. Notice the knock limit backs off, letting you run even more timing
That loop timing for power, fuel and cooling to hold off knock is engine tuning.
Does it actually make power?
Yes, and it's honest about it. Stock always reads exactly 100% installing the mod changes nothing until you tune. On a typical naturally-aspirated engine at full throttle: Stock 100% → Street ~107% → Aggressive ~110%.
But you can't just crank everything to the max. The knock limit moves depending on what you do a lean mixture, boost, or a hot engine all pull it down; a richer mixture or a cooler charge push it back up. That's the puzzle, and it's why tuning is a skill.
And a bad tune has consequences: run it too lean, or pile on too much timing, and the engine will detonate, lose power, and eventually destroy itself. The app warns you every step but it won't stop you.
️ The tabs
Tuning — the fuel and ignition tables, a rotatable 3D view, the live operating-point marker, and a full readout of everything the engine is doing (RPM, MAP, lambda/AFR, spark, knock, boost, power, temps). Presets live here too.
Boost / Limiter — set a boost target and a rev limit. Each can be a single value, or one per gear. Zero means "leave it stock."
2-Step — a launch limiter. Set a launch RPM; hold the clutch and pin the throttle at a standstill and the engine sits right on that number, ready to drop. (Turn off "require clutch" for automatics.)
Logging — hit record, make a pull, hit stop. It captures the peak power, torque and boost of that run, compares it to your best so far, and stacks your pulls in a history list. Each pull can export a dyno sheet — a proper power/torque graph with a lambda trace,
saved to your BeamNG folder.
Mixture Map — the auto-tune. As you drive, it records the mixture your engine actually achieved in every cell versus what it was aiming for. Hit Apply to Fuel and it corrects the fuel table for you — but only in the cells you've actually driven through.
Tunes — save the current setup under a name, reload or delete it later. Saved to a file, so tunes survive restarts and can be backed up or shared.
Browser — see below.
Tune from your phone
Open the Browser tab for a QR code plus two links. Scan the code with your phone (or any device on the same WiFi as your PC) and the whole tuner opens in the web browser, tables, gauges, presets, boost, two-step, all of it. Perfect for a second monitor, or for tuning while a friend drives.
Changes sync both ways, and nothing leaves your network — it's all served from the game itself.
Can't connect?
- Use the Phone link (http://xxx.xxx.x.x:23517/) on other devices — the PC link (127.0.0.1) only works on the machine running the game
- Both devices must be on the same WiFi
❓ FAQ
Will this hurt my car permanently? No. Damage is per-drive — reset/recover the vehicle and it's new again. There's a Clear Damage button, and Tune Off returns the engine to bone stock any time.
Multiplayer? It tunes your own vehicle locally; it's a single-player tool at heart. (But maybe someday).
Is the dyno "real"? It's a virtual dyno (but works well with dyno mods!) a consistent, physically-reasoned simulation, not a real dyno sheet. Great for comparing your own tunes.
Why does my stock car feel slightly down on power? It isn't stock reads exactly 100%. The factory tune is deliberately conservative (like a real one); the power is there waiting to be unlocked.
Notes
The lambda, MAP and other "sensors" are modelled — BeamNG doesn't simulate a real fuel system, so the mod synthesises one that behaves the way a real engine would. Treat it as a great tuning simulator rather than a bench-accurate ECU.
Built by Draco. Still a work in progress!! Feedback and bug reports welcome tell me what car and what you were doing when something went wrong!
