good mod! very good quality and good information only complaint is that some of the engines are way to quiet like one of the inline 3 configs on the covet on that config you can only hear the turbo if you could fix the sounds this would be a 100 out of 10 mod

Hey! love this mod and the variety of engines and sounds it offers. I just have a few questions for you though. I notice that after downloading this mod, a lot of new vehicles separate from the vanilla vehicles like the D-series show up in the vehicle configurator. they all have names like "GT" "Ford Bronco" Or "Crown Vic" and do not have thumbnails. upon clicking them, a few configurations show up with screenshots of real ford car mods on grid map, like the 2017 Ford GT or the Ford Bronco from 79' but upon clicking them, they don't work. what's the reason for these?
also, why do the car sounds sound similar to and/or use vanilla sounds (even though they all sound differently modified in their own way for each engine) and do you ever plan to replace them with the real sounds?-
Author's Response
Thanks for enjoying my mod. You do have some excellent questions.
The Ford vehicles you mentioned are vehicle mods (see the Excel spreadsheet I’ve linked in the main description for more details) I’ve added my engines and preset configs to. The reason why they would show as a blank thumbnail and don’t load when selecting them is because you don’t have those vehicle mods installed on your device. Those extra vehicle mods aren’t required to be installed for my mod to work with vanilla vehicles, though.
As for the sounds, I don’t use any vanilla sounds. I’m currently using the sounds that are exported from Automation when I make an engine. However, I do agree with you that they sound very similar to vanilla engine sounds. I think the reason for that is that Automation and BeamNG use different techniques/structures for producing sound within their games. When I make the engines in Automation, they sound a lot more realistic and variant, however, when exported to BeamNG, they seem to lose the majority of that. I have considered trying to find engine sounds from other games (ex. Forza Horizon 4), but I couldn’t really find anything that would work with BeamNG formatting, plus those sounds are behind copyright laws so if I could find some, it would have to be on a pirated/sketchy resource. And for recording real-life engines myself; I don’t have the resources or time to do so.
Sorry for the long response, but I hope that answers your questions.

Great mod. Also a little suggestion :)
As you've already done 1.0 ecoboost, what about i3 1.5 ecoobost (Fiesta ST and Puma ST)?
Would be great to see it as a content of your mod :)-
Author's Response
I actually plan to redo the 1.0 I3 EcoBoost since currently there's only one variant and preset config in the mod. I'll make sure to add the 1.5 I3 EcoBoost too.

Suggestion: Cosworth BD series (BDA through BDG, I guess)
Cars: Miramar, Covet (standard and MR), 200BX, Old Pessima
Pretty legendary engines, most famously used in Mk1 and Mk2 Escort rally cars. They also sound amazing-
Author's Response
Thanks for the detailed engine request. I will make sure to add them to the list of future engines.

The best engine mod I have ever downloaded I love it so much keep up the great work dude! btw what's with the cars whenever I spawn them they just fly away (the ones that came with the mod).
-
Author's Response
Thank you for the review! I'm unsure what you mean by your issue. I haven't added any cars to the mod, just pre-set configurations. As for them flying away, that seems very strange.

If possible, can you add a 1975 Mustang II 2.3L I4 and a 4.9L v8?
-
Author's Response
Yes, I'll add them to the list of future engines.

Good variety, unfortunatley I can't use any of them since they are too loud, esp when compared to vanilla engines.
-
Author's Response
The engines being very loud is a known issue. Unfortunately, I haven't found a variable in the sound files exported from Automation to lower their overall volume.

FYI:
You can contact Car_Killer and ask him to upload your mod update to the repo. Our Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack exceeds the file size limits as well and when we push out an update we contact him and all is well.
Forgive me for not contacting you directly, but here you have a free 5-star review. :P-
Author's Response
Thank you for reaching out to me with this information. I will make sure to contact Car_Killer ASAP.

- 5/5,
I just discovered the thing about downloading it from google drive. I love the engines you have done, and in the past week, it has been jacked up. I had to search google. I would not have thought if you had it in the repository there would be extra steps.
-
Author's Response
Thank you for enjoying my mod. Since BeamNG.Drive has a maximum upload size, I am unable to upload the current versions of my mod. However, the reason why I keep posting updates in this repository is for people watching the resource to get notifications of new updates. My mod shouldn't be anywhere on Google Drive, so if you find it on Google Drive, that means it has been re-uploaded by someone else. My mod should only be available here, in 2FastRacing's repository, and my own Microsoft OneDrive share link.
-
-
Author's Response
You must have the version from this repository which is 2022.04.08 since that version didn't have any engines added to the Sunburst at that point. The current version is 2022.10.31 but since BeamNG.Drive's repository has a max upload size you can only download the newest version from 2FastRacing or OneDrive.

Author's Response
Um, I'm not really sure. My only guess would be whether or not the mod is enabled/disabled in BeamNG.Drive or if the mod got corrupted when downloading or didn't download all the way. Also, there are some BeamNG.Drive vehicles I haven't added engines to yet so it could depend on which vehicle you are looking for engines.

-
Author's Response
Yes. I was actually planning to do that engine next since I had a couple family members request it too.

- 5/5,
a bit confused the update dates on here do not match up with 2 fast racing has it not been updated on 2fast yet?
-
Author's Response
Correct. 2FastRacing has a smaller community of developers so it takes longer to get approved compared to this repository. As of 8:55 AM of 09-28-2022, the current status on 2FastRacing: "This message is awaiting moderator approval, and is invisible to normal visitors." If you want to get the update right away you can download it off of OneDrive.

- 5/5,
Hi, this is a really cool mod. Is there any chance you can add a 1.2 i3 engine with around 130hp please?
-
Author's Response
Thanks. What Ford engine are you referring to? The only I3 engines that I know that are made by Ford are from the EcoBoost and Duratec families. The only displacements they come in are 1.0L, 1.1L, and 1.5L and none make around 130HP.
-
-
Author's Response
Sorry, this mod will only contain engines manufactured by Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, and Shelby.
-
-
-
Author's Response
Yes, I can.

-
-
Author's Response
Sure. Are you referring to the I6 or V8? Also, is there a particular version of the Barra engine family you want to be added?
-
-
-
Author's Response
Thank you. I have already added the 140HP 1.0L EcoBoost from the 2014 Fiesta to the Ibishu Covet and Cherrier FCV. I'll make sure to add more variants of this engine.

- 5/5,
I wonder why the file is so large. There are no custom models right?
-
Author's Response
Yes, you are correct: there are no custom models. However, I use the custom sounds files from the Automation engine export. I do this because it makes each engine I have sound unique and close to the real-life engine (unlike BeamNG.Drive which uses the same engine sounds for almost every engine/vehicle). This is what causes my mod size to be so large since there are different sound files per engine. After checking my files, over 90% of the size is from the sound files.
