This update adds 1 new engine family consisting of 24 engine variants and 44 preset configurations. It also includes adjustments to engine sound volume.
Sound Adjustments
I had numerous people saying that various engines' volume were too quiet after the update where I reduced the volume from being too loud. With this update, I have slightly increased the volume of all engines. Below I include a little more detail.
- mainGain is the variable used to determine how loud the engine sounds within the game and the unit is in decibels.
- Automation exports have mainGain set to 7.5 and this was the value I copied for the versions of my mod that people considered way too loud.
- BeamNG varies for what they set mainGain to, but it's typically set in the negatives. For the versions of my mod people considered quiet, I had set mainGain to either -5 or -10.5 depending on the engine.
- For this update, I have set mainGain to 0 since I figured it would be a good in-between value. If there are still engines that seem noticeably louder or quieter when compared to the rest, please let me know and make sure to include what engine and from what BeamNG vehicle.
